Great time - This tour was really lovely, my driver Matha was super helpful and I had a great time. There's a lot of driving involved so keep that in mind when booking but totally worth it to see the Malaysian country side

The guide makes the difference in this experience - The day wasn't perfect with the weather, a few clouds didn't do justice to the charm of the Cameron Highlands where the tea plantations certainly make the difference. The smell of you near the Boh factory is still in my memories. When you spend so much in the car, however, the difference is made by the company and in our case Raja totally made the difference. We talked for many hours, about life, about paths to happiness, about different cultures and points of view. We opened up to him and returned from the trip lighter and happier. It was an experience within an experience which however made the difference. Even in the face of a serious negative episode experienced by the natives (who are only there for a tip and who unfortunately did not turn out to be beautiful people with a very unpleasant episode towards a girl), Raja was able to sweep away the negative energies that had been generated and do not affect the experience. The rating of 5 therefore arises from its presence, without it perhaps the experience would be worth less given that it still requires a whole day if done from Kuala Lumpur and which would be easily achievable even independently at a lower cost given that the only really interesting things are the Cameron Valley and the visit to The Boh factory, both easily accessible and accessible even from outside. Raja makes a difference. Really.

Cameron Highlands Tour - I did a private day tour to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur. My driver was Lawrence, and he made the trip very enjoyable! He made the extra effort to show me important cultural experiences like stopping to show me latex trees and pine seeds, which are important to Malaysia’s economy. We also stopped to meet with local aboriginal people who were very friendly and welcoming. I got to use one of their blowguns they use for hunting, it was a great experience that I wasn’t expecting! Lawrence’s deep admiration for their way of life made the tour that much more enjoyable. We also did the things listed on the tour - the BOH tea plantation had stunning views and I got to try the white strawberries at the farm! Overall was a great day and I enjoyed my time talking to and driving around with Lawrence. Also got great tips from him about where to go in KL. I would definitely recommend the tour!

Escape from heat - We really enjoyed our driver and seeing Malaysia away from Kuala Lumpur. Roads are excellent despite being very curved at the highlands. The vista as well as scenery along the countryside is delightful . Due to school holiday, highland was very crowded. We did a day trip but perhaps staying overnight might be better.

Feel ripped off - We were looking forward to this all day private tour so much but now realize that the tour depends so much on the driver. Asni Travel sent a driver that did not speak English very well and was therefore difficult to understand. We were mentally exhausted by end of day trying to decipher his words. We didn't learn anything cultural or historical about Cameron Highlands because he said he had not been there for a long time. He also skipped the town of Ringlet because he said there was nothing there and so we did not get to interact with the indigenous people. He was obviously trying to follow the itinerary that Asni sent him by scrolling on his phone while driving. He also expected us to pay for his snack and lunch which under normal circumstances we would have been happy to do. The kicker was when he wanted us to pay for his cartons of strawberries for his family at the farm we visited. I do give him credit though for driving us safely thru the winding mountain roads. I totally blame Asni Travel for not vetting nor training this driver to act in a professional manner. I feel we overpaid for a sub par experience.

Worthless so-called "guide" that ruined the day! - WARNING! This so-called guide was a terrible driver and we were terrified! He drove right ahead close to the car in front! He just replied "juice drifter" when we asked him to increase the distance. In the end we yelled at him! We basically understood nothing of his so-called English! He had never been to the places before and had to ask for directions all the time, even so we had to turn around several times! We even got to enter the correct address into his GPS on a couple of occasions. First a small waterfall and then he stopped and asked if we wanted to take pictures! We saw some houses by the road but he didn't know Orange Aslis was down in the valley so we said no! Everything we were to be informed about as we passed he said nothing but just dropped us off and urged us to take photos! The first tea plantation was closed and so it continued all day!

Our driver killed a dog (without remorse) - We both agree that this was the worst trip we've ever been on. Make sure you have updated your life insurance policy and fully charge your phone, hold on for dear life that you'll make it back. This trip should actually be called “pay to sit in a car with someone who barely knows how to drive for 12 hours on windy mountain roads”. Laurence (our driver) seemed friendly at first, but quickly told us he needs to talk to stay awake - this was not assuring at all and he kept playing with his phone while driving all day. Laurence’s driving was so erratic, he kept twitching around like he was struggling to stay awake on the winding roads which was stressing us out so much that we nearly offered to drive! He kept needing to stop and yell at other locals as if to prove to us that he spoke the language and was friends with everyone, however they just looked at him like he was crazy and didn’t respond back. At one point he drove us into a village and RAN OVER A SLEEPING DOG! He then claimed he did nothing and the dog ran away, but I saw a local pick up the dead dog with its insides hanging out. He refused to apologize and was lucky the locals didn’t do anything to him. I was angry, stressed, sad, and uncomfortable the rest of the day. I have no idea how this trip was even supposed to take 12 hours because we only went to the waterfalls and tea plantation before asking to return to KL. At one point, he even slammed the brakes on the mountain road and asked me to go find rubber trees with him. We somehow made it back in one piece after 11 hours of Laurence endlessly twitching and burping while driving dangerously slow on the highway. I will never recommend this trip and am genuinely sorry for anyone who does not read this review before wasting their money and risking their life with this man. Absolutely the worst experience of our travels in Asia.
