It is a shrine dedicated to Lord Murugah, a Hindu deity, and features a flight of 272 steps leading up to the temple cave. Another cave, known as the museum cave, is adorned with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from Hindu scriptures.

Great private tour if not on the slightly expensive side (depending on your needs!) - I couldn't find a tour that did all I wanted to do, but this one did it and I was too short on time to do two half day tours! Vehicle was comfortable and guide was friendly. I'd say the cost is slightly higher than is worth it, if you have time time to do two half day group tours. But given its private and covers off a lot in a short time, I'd say it was worth it for me!

Great day trip (but woh, it was HOT!) 🥵 - Wish the mosque opened to tourists on the day were there. But we still enjoy it, regardless. Batu cave was crazy. There were so many people around possibly due to holiday seasons. If you could, climb the steps. 😍

Spectacular Putrajaya and Batu Caves - Putrajaya city is spectacular, the mosque is magnificent and the boat tour relaxing in a man made lake. It takes about 50 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. The Batu Caves are exactly in opposite direction, north of KL. We were lucky because we arrived there in the late afternoon, was not to busy. The place is very colorful, Hindu Temples are just like that, beware of the monkeys, they are not afraid of humans. It is worth climbing all the way up and get into the cave. Our driver, Roy, was very nice but had little english and experience, so we couldn't learn much about the places.
