- Motsameta Monastery - Continue to Motsameta Monastery, situated 7 km from Kutaisi. The monastery, perched above the Tkaltsitela River and surrounded by lush vegetation, was built in the 11th century by King Bagrat III. It is named after the brothers David and Konstantine Mkheidze, Georgian nobles who were executed here for refusing to change their religion.
