Kutaisi, Wine & Dine - Kutaisi

Kutaisi - The tour kicks off at 10 a.m. from Kutaisi’s central square. Here, the guide shares insights into the history of Georgia and Kutaisi. After capturing some photos at the fountain, the group heads to the central park, home to the statue of the sister “Ishkhnelebi” and the “9 April” memorial. We then pass by the Kutaisi city hall, the Opera house, and visit the “Mon Plasir” arch. The tour continues past the first gymnasium to the white bridge, through the park of love, and to the Golden Marquee Palace. Our final stop in this segment is the central grocery market, “Mtsvane Bazari”.

Kutaisi Historical Museum - Next, we visit the Kutaisi History Museum, which houses ancient artifacts from Kutaisi and Georgia.

Bagrati Cathedral - We drive up to Bagrati Cathedral, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Built in the 11th century, it stands as a symbol of a united Georgia.

Gelati Monastery - Our journey continues to the 12th-century Gelati Monastery. The complex includes three large churches, an academy, the grave of David the Builder, a bell tower, and monks’ quarters. It was constructed by the renowned Georgian King David the Builder.

Motsameta Monastery - We then head to Motsameta Monastery, linked to the tale of the martyred brothers David and Constantine Mkheidze. Perched on a cliff and surrounded by a river on three sides, the monastery is set amidst stunning natural scenery.

Baia’s Wine - Around lunchtime, we visit the family-run “Baia’s Wine” in the village of Obcha, Bagdati municipality. Baia and her sister Gvantsa first show us their vineyard, located just behind their house. We then move to the wine cellar to sample various wines, including “Tsolikouri”, “Krakhuna”, “Aladasturi”, “Ojaleshi”, “Otskhanuri Sapere”, and “Chacha”. We conclude with a feast of delicious Imeretian food prepared by their mother.

Kutaisi - Batumi

Batumi Boulevard - Our first stop is Europe Square and the statue of Medea. We then proceed to Piazza Square and the Church of St. Nicholas, followed by a visit to Batumi port. The group then views the moving statue of Ali & Nino, the alphabet tower of Batumi, and walks down the boulevard through the dancing fountains park. The excursion ends at The Drama Theatre of Batumi and the statue of Neptune.

Makhuntseti Waterfall - We head to Makhuntseti Waterfall, one of the tallest in Georgia. Afterward, we visit King Tamar’s bridge, built in the 14th century, where guests can jump from the bridge and swim in the chilly mountain river.

Mirveti Waterfall - Our next destination is Mirveti Waterfall, which requires crossing a hanging bridge and walking through a village to reach.

Batumi - Canyons & Cave - Kutaisi

Prometheus Cave - The first stop is Prometheus Cave, which stretches 1.8 km and lies 40 meters below sea level. The cave features a hall of love where people even get married, and offers an underground boating experience.

Martvili Canyon - We then head to Martvili Canyon for a boat tour, exploring its depths and waterfalls.

Okatse Canyon - The final attraction is Okatse Canyon, the deepest in Georgia, featuring hanging bridges and skywalks. To reach the bridge, you can either trek a 3 km route or take an off-roading taxi, which is quite an adventure.
