Fantastic authentic experience - What a fantastic experience! Miho-San is a wonderfully warm and welcoming host, and the house where we cooked was gorgeous, with traditional tatami mats and a room overlooking a beautiful small garden. Miho was well organised and very encouraging of me and my almost 8 year old, who raved about our time there. One of our favourite memories! Plus we can make mochi ice cream at home now. Really glad we included this on our trip.

Unique Experience - Miho was such a great host. We had such a unique experience making Japanese desserts. She was very patient and kind. She was very prepared and helped our children. We got to eat the fruits of our labor in a traditional Japanese room with a small garden outside. We made so much that we even had leftovers for later!

Wonderful Experience! - Miho’s dessert cooking class was an amazing experience, and a highlight of our trip to Japan! Not only were the final desserts delicious, but Miho was a wonderful teacher and conversationalist, making the process fun and empowering. I am looking forward to making these desserts at home for my sons. I also found Miho on Instagram (irohacookingkyoto) where you can see many more photos of her various cooking class offerings.

A MUST stop if you’re in Kyoto Japan!! Do NOT miss out on Mojo’s amazing hospitality! - If you’re going to Japan you do NOT want to miss this! Miho is an amazing guide to Kyoto and the kitchen! Once we arrived Miho welcomed us into her home for tea and a snack in her traditional tatami matted room looking out over her beautiful garden. After getting to know our other classmates we washed up and got our aprons on! We made traditional Japanese sweets including dango, mochi ice cream, and both white/red bean paste Taiyaki. Once we finished making our sweets, Miho taught us how to correctly prepare Macha tea to go along with our freshly prepared sweets! While we ate, Miho answered any questions we may have had about Kyoto and took photo requests so we could remember this absolutely amazing time! This class was filled with laughter, learning and nothing but fun! You don’t want to miss out on this!
