Fantastic - I traveled with my parents and 3 aunties, all were 70 years and above. I decided in a tour instead of doing this myself because I wanted someone who will be able to tell us stories and show us things that we would not have been able to do ourselves. This tour ticked all those boxes. Our guide Chica was fantastic and introduced us to food that we would not have ordered ourselves.

Ate until we dropped - We had Lisa as our guide and it was her first time but she was very sweet and taught us many things about Japan and the food. We ate things I would not have normally have ordered and ate until we were stuffed. The food tour is very go at your own pace so you have a chance to stop and browse at things without feeling rushed.

Most highly recommended tour of Nishiki market - Tamura Masamine san (Masa) was our guide, who has lived and worked in Kyoto all of his life, and he was a wealth of knowledge. He has owned restaurants and isakaya and knew the market inside out. Lots of secret spots, insider knowledge and delicious options to taste. I couldn’t believe when he said it was his first guided tour. Very generous with his time and answers to questions. Like all Japanese people, he is very polite and hospitable. His English is excellent. Highly recommended.
