We will be exploring pathways near the exotic jungle for our tour. Initially, we’re set to visit a haven for Red-eyed frogs. Following this, we will wander along trails exposing us to various other amphibian species and unforeseen creatures of the forest. The symphony of sounds rendered by the frogs will be your constant companion during the journey!

Highlights
  • Tifakara Lodge - Our evening excursion commences with a stroll along the hotel’s internal trails, where our inaugural frog haven awaits. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of amphibian species, including the iconic Red-Eyed Frog (Agalychnis callidryas).

As we proceed along the pathways, we’ll make our way to our second frog sanctuary, which boasts a slightly larger scale than the first. The journey offers an authentic feel of the tropical rainforest, all while ensuring a safe experience. The wilderness is full of unexpected delights, and it’s not unusual to encounter sloths, nocturnal birds, and serpents during our adventure.

Amazing night tour! - The tour was amazing and Kevin found all kinds of amazing frogs and snakes for us. He was also very familiar with the plants and gave a great tour. Highly recommend going with Kevin if he’s available.

Josue gave us the best... - Josue gave us the best experience. Short and fun, and you really see the most special frogs. We did 3 different night tours in Manuel Antonio, Monteverde and this one is the best experience. Josue made it special for my son.

Amazing guides! - This Frog sanctuary that they take you through is VERY COOL! Although our group was kinda big for the space, my wife and I stayed after the tour and they let us venture through it on our own and OH MY GOD was it BEAUTIFUL! Our guide was also VERY informative of the nature around which was nice for personal experience! Seen WAY more than just frogs!

If you like Frogs, you can see them here! - The hotel is blended with nature as it has several frog sanctuaries where many of Costa Rica's unique frog species can thrive. A long hike is not needed as these sanctuaries are right next to the hotel, however there is a more diverse section behind a gate where large insects and snakes can be seen as well. This tour lasted about an hour and allowed for many great pictures of the local wildlife.

Amazing - This was a last minute booking for us but it turned out so PERFECT. We saw a few non poisonous snakes, a sloth, and many frogs! Our guide was so knowledgeable! Wonderful experience

Bountiful, knowledgable tour - I loved seeing so many frogs. I learned about the types of frogs and their habits. Also, I learned about snakes and plants. The guide, Randall, was very knowledgable and attentive to each of us. Thank you for a great tour

Fun last minute tour on a beautiful boutique hotel’s well-kept garden. - We booked a tour extremely last minute through Viator (about 2 hours before) and they thankfully had availability! Our tour guide, Randall, was very kind and knew a lot about both frogs and flora. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the glass frog, but saw a bunch of red-eyed frogs, toads, swamp frogs, a snake and the “blue jeans” frog. Included with the tour is a free drink that was quite tasty; it had coconut cream and lime I believe. Great value and later than other night tours, which fit our schedule very well. And thanks again to Randall!

Nice but a lot of people and does not last one hour - Nice but it is says the tour last 1 hour but it barely lasts 45 minutes. It felt like than 25% less time was a big deal for the price I paid for my daughter and myself. Also we were more than 15 people in a very grounded area. However we got to see many frogs and snakes.

Good - This experience was great and our guide was informative and enthusiastic during the time we had. We had seen multiple frogs and a snake. Unfortunately, the tour got cut short due to rain (we only had ~20 minutes of the tour). We were offered another tour the next day but could not go due to another booking. We were not offered any other accommodations.
