Saved the best for last! - Awesome tour! George was our guide and he was very informative. He gave us information about the landscape of Costa Rica in our way to the tour grounds. The river float was peaceful and just beautiful. George helped us to spot howler monkeys, 3 crocodiles, several herons and many other birds. Would absolutely do this again!

Enjoyable - The listing for this tour mentions 3 different tour lengths. 5, 2, and 1 hour; we were picked up at Volcano Lodge at 7:45am and dropped off around 12:30pm. Your guide will do most of the paddling but you need to help occasionally! You will need to multitask any photo taking and paddling, which is not easy and I wish we had more heads up when something was coming up or could pause on the riverside. The guides seem to know where stuff is usually found such as an owl, otter, bird, bat, crocodile, monkeys and sloth. We saw more on this river tour than in the Arenal Park tour. You paddle on Penas Blancas and San Jose rivers. You will get slightly wet so dress accordingly and bring a wet-bag. They also offer ones to borrow which was nice. After the paddle, we had a nice snack of prepared local food: corn tortillas, cheese, and plantains with and drink in a pavilion, then in the next building you will learn about cacao & chocolate with a sample taste. The snack and cacao lasted about 30 minutes or so. We enjoyed this trip and recommend it! 👍🏼👍🏼 Our guide Warner was the best!

Better then Disney’s Jungle Book - The landscape across the river is so beautiful, it feels like a page from the jungle book, and it gives beginnin-of-the-world vibes. It’s the sheer definition of natural beauty. Truly recommend this!

Must do for wildlife and a cool tour - Pickup was botched by the vendor we used to book but they made a special trip to come get us for the experience. Five stars for that alone. The trip was amazing. Saw Cayman, Howler Monkeys, White faced Monkeys, Boa Constrictors. Highly recommend

Perfect family adventure - We had a great experience with our 6 and 3 year old! Jose was a fabulous tour guide and we saw lots of wildlife including iguanas, toucans, kingfisher birds, porcupine, basilisque lizard, among others. The part on the River was about 2 hours and slightly too long for my kids but we all really enjoyed it and the snacks at the end were a nice treat!
