Amazing! - This tour was amazing. Our guide was very organized and gave us lots of clear instruction and information about the landmarks we were seeing. We got to go inside the Benagil cave along with a few other smaller caves. The views and experience were unbeatable!

Amazing Kayak Adventure of Benagil Caves - We just had the best experience enjoying a wonderful kayak tour with a small group of 12 led by José and Julio. Both guides went out of their way to make sure everyone felt happy and comfortable as well as ensuring we all had fun along the way throughout the tour of the beautiful Benagil caves and surrounding scenic coastline. We highly recommend this as a must do experience to anyone visiting Carvoeiro.

I recommend - Great kayak ride, to Marhina beach and the Benagil caves, our guide José was great, he spoke French throughout, the explanations were very clear, we had a great time, and discovered landscapes magnificent!!

Walk in Paradise - Superb walk, the guide José sent us to “Paradise” cave just as beautiful as the famous Benagil cave but more confidential.

Kajak sightseeing - Beautifull tour, great knowledgeable and patient guide José. Recommend going early in the morning. Great pictures!!!!

It wasn’t a tour and... - It wasn’t a tour and there was no guide. It was a kayak renting for more money (10 euros more) than kayak renting costs.

Amazing experience ruined by rude and unprofessional guide…. - I had booked with Andre Matos to kayak in a group tour with the guide to visit the beaches and caves including Benagil cave. I booked this experience for my boyfriend as it was his birthday and he works as a Doctor in the UK. I really wanted this activity to be special as he adores canoeing, hiking and history. We arrived at the ‘meeting point’ at 12:20pm as stated by the tickets. However, we could not find Andre or his team. We asked two other kayaking vendors as to where his location is based which was a very vague description of ‘somewhere in the car park’. Eventually, we found someone in his team in a plain white van, no uniform or anything to highlight he was part of the Andre Matos kayaking team. We were given our equipment and sent to the beach to board the kayak. We had booked the group kayaking experience with a tour guide due to our lack of knowledge about kayaking and we wanted to feel comfortable with making mistakes so at least we had an expert with us. The team member was extremely rude and unprofessional shouting at us saying ‘Jesus Christ, I thought English was your first language, obviously not’ because I did not know which end was the front of the kayak was. During the trip, several comments were made in a sarcastic way berating the way we were paddling, calling us stupid during the tour and upon exiting the Benagil Cave he said ‘Finally, you’ve done something right Jesus Christ’. Upon handing back the equipment he completed ignored us and no pleasantries were exchanged from him. We said thank-you and to have a lovely day and tried our best in Portuguese to show respect but we were ignored. The experience itself was amazing, the caves were stunning and the guide did have amazing knowledge of the historical side. However, the unprofessionalism, rudeness and lack of respect ruined the entire experience and my boyfriend is now quite upset on his birthday. I will NOT be booking with this company again and I would urge others to visit other companies as they appeared to be more professional and kind.

Overselling = bad service - Family with two children. They asked us to arrive 15 minutes early and after an hour waiting in the sun with the guide giving us excuses that there were no people, he told us that there were not enough kayaks and that we had to keep waiting. We immediately went with another company that treated us wonderfully. The positive part is that they recognized the problem and gave us our money back.

Very disappointed with our visit with Andrematos. - We called to find out if it was possible to have a French speaking guide to do this kayak excursion in Bengali (we don't speak our Portuguese or English). We were told: no problem! that we could book on the site, and that once there we would be placed with a French-speaking guide. On the day of departure, we were given a pair of paddles, helped to put the kayak in the water, and then no one else. We had no explanation of the theoretical bases of kayak navigation. No basic safety instructions and no guide. We were simply left to our own devices. It was even dangerous at our stop in Bengali, so we continued our visit without stopping. Finally, we cut our visit short and returned after 1 hour 15 minutes. We couldn't even complain because we ultimately didn't have anyone who spoke French. The next visit will be by hiking along the coast or by boat (even if it is less charming).

No organization - We had booked a group excursion with a guide in Spanish, when we arrived the guy who gave us the kayak did not speak Spanish and showed no interest in knowing what we had hired. He gave us the kayak and said “enjoy!” without explaining where we had to go or anything. When we asked him about the guide it seemed like he didn't know what we were talking about. Finally we had to go on our own and we believe that the excursion group did not exist.
