Sweet and short - I really liked the guided tour in old town of LP. The guide was very lovely and knowledgable. She also gave us other tips on what to see in this lovely city and how to get there.

Very informative - Maria was a really good guide, telling a lot of interesting facts about the people and buildings that made up early Vegueta. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in the origina of Las Palmas!

Top destination to celebrate Christmas. - Lots of sun, quiet relaxing holiday. Old town of Las Palmas is definitely worth a visit as well as the beach and its promenade. Don't forget the market in Puerto de Morgan.

Nice introduction to the old town - This short tour is a nice introduction to the old part of the city, ideal for people on short visits and get the taste of the island's origins. The guide Maria gets 5*, she is knowledgeable and has to simultaneously do the tour in English and Spanish. Which brings me to why 4* for the tour. I appreciate there aren't enough customers to have a guide for each language, but nowhere on the trip advisor description does it say the tour is done in two languages on one go. I was ready to tour for one hour, where in reality we have to wait until everything is explained in both languages at the stops. I didn't mind as I'm bilingual and Maria is great at explaining all details in both languages, but my partner isn't. The description here should be ammended so people know what to expect.

Getting to know Las Palmas. - Took a while to get started due to having two different language groups together. Good, clear explanations at each stop. Leader had a pleasant manner and didn’t waste time.

Good way to see and learn about part of the old town - After a not ideal start (the guide was late and did not seem to have been informed of my booking of the tour), Maria was a pleasant guide and the short walk around the old town was informative and interesting.

A very poor tour-avoid - First of all this tour was advertised as being in ENGLISH. But it was in Spanish (first) and English (second). The time devoted to explanations in English took up less than 50% of the one hour allotted with a goup of Spaniards in Carnival dress receiving the best attention. Secondly the tour guide Maria responded badly and incorrectly to important questions about the City/Island History. She specifically denied that the Portuguese had been in ownership of islands in the Canaries when history shows that in the 1300's they claimed priority to the Islands. During the 15th century Castile and Portugal were the primary contenders for ownership of the Islands She also denied that the Spanish invaded the Island in the 15th Century. History is clear that they did so in around 1478. She did however berate some Dutch visitors for destroying part of Las Palmas in the 16th century and remembered that the British under Drake also tried to plunder the town. Amazing selective memory!! So ignorance or denial of facts apart, the general content of the short tour was uninformative. During 2019 I took city tours in Faro, Braga, Guimaraes and all were excellent, another in Palma was just about OK BUT THEY WERE ALL FREE....in fact I gave a larger tip than the cost of this Las Palmas tour. I have asked Trip Adviser for my money back.
