Shadows of Sin City - Walking Ghost Tour in Las Vegas

Whether you call them Ghost Tours or Haunted Tours - they’re what Ghost City Tours is famous for. We take a lot of pride in showing our guests the most haunted places in the most haunted cities. Professional storytellers, our Tour Guides ensure everyone has an entertaining time!

Highlights
  • The Mob Museum - Formally known as “The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement”, The Mob Museum contains a vast amount of information on the history of the Mafia and the various criminal activities that took place during the Prohibition Era.
  • Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel - When Benny Binion purchased the Hotel Apache, he decided to make a few changes to the building - secret rooms, tunnels, and other things to make criminal activity easier. But what he could not change was the haunted energy of various parts of the hotel, so get ready to learn about Benny’s crimes, and the ghosts leftover!
  • Casino at the El Cortez Hotel - The El Cortez is typically not the first hotel-casino you’ll hear about in Vegas, Binion’s usually takes that spot, but there is far from a shortage of mob history and paranormal experiences to learn about here, and you can even book a night to stay after your tour!

Gripping Must Do Activity for those who love Las Vegas - Our guide, Mary, was incredible! She told stories about the dark history of Las Vegas that were so gripping we didn’t even think about the 100 degree heat. Her knowledge and personal experiences facilitating these tours gave it so much depth leaving us to believe Las Vegas’s violent past is refusing to be forgotten.

Unique Vegas Experience - After coming to Vegas for years and doing the usual Vegas activities, we decided to do something different, and that's what we got. Fun, entertaining, and historical, we learned so much and had a great time.

One-of-a-kind Vegas experience - We did the Ghost Tour with Jim and had a one-of-a-kind experience! This tour is in OG Vegas aka Fremont Street but you go away from the tourist areas, which can be a little sketchy, but still pretty cool. It was a really cool way to learn about the history of Vegas. Jim is very engaging and fun! Definitely wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water!

Fun walking tour - We learned so much on this tour! Even the Las Vegas native in our group learned some things. The tour guide was insightful and funny. Would recommend this to anyone looking for something different to do around Freemont Street.

Alan is an amazing guide!!! - This tour honestly exceeded my expectations!!! I went with my best friend, so it was just us two, and we met Alan on the street corner by the Mob museum. It ended up just being the two of us with him since it was a weekday, and despite the fact that we're both young women visiting for the first time (at night to boot), I felt super safe with Alan immediately- he's a really friendly and funny guy and comes off as likeable the moment you meet him! At one point near the end of the tour I was harassed by a stranger on the sidewalk who tried to make a scene, and Alan handled it extremely well. He addressed the person and directly told them if they didn't leave us alone that he would call security (we were outside a casino) and have them removed from the premises- which he ended up having to do. He moved us inside the building and apologized as something like that had never happened to him before on a tour, but I was very impressed with the way he handled that situation so calmly and though it was a bit jarring, I somehow didn't feel in danger at all. He took us on the walking tour around the city and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Vegas. He explained things with clarity and was super entertaining as well- adding tidbits, fun facts, and even little jokes into his tour at every moment (he even gave us some glowsticks which was really neat!). Neither me or my friend are believers in the supernatural, but we love history and this was a very informative tour. And even if you are scared of ghosts, there's nothing to worry about because Alan made sure to balance the spooky and the historical well- in fact, the history helped provide the background for the scary events he told us about. He was very respectful when he spoke about events that have happened in the city, and was very genuine in his excitement to share things he's clearly passionate about. He honestly reminded me of every amazing professor I've ever had in college haha. I recommend this tour 10000% to anyone, especially to those who've never been to Las Vegas before, or even just to anyone who has an interest in history and walking around! Alan was an incredible tour guide and one of the highlights of my trip.

Needs a Little Work - We were looking for more of a haunted tour/ghost story sort of adventure- hopefully peppered with tales of murder and bits of history here and there- but were met with more of a rambling, non-linear assemblage of largely mob related semi-stories that did occasionally mention ways in which people think certain buildings might be haunted. It seemed like the organization and delivery of the tour needed to be retuned. When traveling between stops on a tour like this, it’s nice to have some bonus spooky stories/tales of terror to fill the dead air while traveling in a pack, but that wasn’t a part of this tour. (I hate to mention it, but I must say that chewing gum and talking can pose certain risks of flying spit- and my husband and I did get accidentally spit on a few times)

Yeah, nope - My family was the only group on the tour. Our tour guide was awkward, stood too close, and kept spitting on us when he talked. At one point he wanted to leave us at a random alley to make a personal phone call. We refused and he took it sort of personally. My aunt also has back issues and wanted to end the tour and he was short with her as well. The tour had about 5 stops in total ( mph museum, California, binions, bridger building, and Las Vegas high school.) We spent most of the time walking in silence to each stop for two hours. Expected to spend more time at major sights downtown but all we saw was alleyways and sidewalk. Felt unsafe at times because it was so late at night. The “ghost stories” were just history facts. They were great facts, we just wanted more ooky spooky storytelling. He sort of just told us that people died in some areas. Wasn’t worth the money, do not book this tour.
