From Cheese to Castle - History in the Making! - I took the option of spending more free time in the medieval city rather than sit for the extended cheese tasting. It was a great decision. I got to se the castle, visit shops and eat a delicious lunch. Roger was a great bus driver /tour guide! The cheese and chocolate factories were both very interesting.

Fun, fondue and chocolate tour. - It was a great day. Exactly as it was described. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Sampled chocolate and Gruyère cheese. Comfortable bus. The highlight was the free time in the mid-evil village with lunch and shopping on our own.

I thoroughly enjoyed the... - I thoroughly enjoyed the medieval village along with the chocolate and cheese factory tours. However, it would have been more enjoyable if additional historical/cultural information was provided during bus trip.

The locations were good.... - The locations were good. Tour guide was terrible. Never introduced himself or bus driver. Did not inform us about where we were going and gave no history of the area. Basically he just told us times to be back to the bus.

Gruyères tour of Chocolate Factory and Medieval Village - Great tour and tasting at Chocolate factory and tour of cheese factories, but way too rushed. Don’t expect a leisurely tour because if you aren’t done and at the bus in 25 minutes for cheese factory and an 55 minutes at chocolate factory, you’ll be left behind. They twice left without an accurate count at both places and the second time had to divert our bus group to pick up the mother and daughter that had been left behind. 40 minutes round trip. Tour of castle costs extra. Worst of all we almost didn’t get the tour at all as there was a big triathlon event in Luassane blocking our pick up point and tour never contacted us with an alternative pickup. Only due to the generosity of hotel concierges at a place we weren’t even staying who spoke French did we reach tour company to arrange an alternative pickup. Then they didn’t show. Luckily a Canadian couple with phone service called again and yelled at the company who was telling him to call the bus driver. He told them we needed to make the arrangements ourselves! Finally they did come but the remainder of the trip, the English speaking tour guide referred to us as “the couple with the basic package who diverted the tour”! Not a nice reflection on us!! All in all we spent 5 hours of travel time during an 8 hour tour. Not worth the money spent.

Late pick up and it was not provided... - <p>Late pick up and it was not provided the service it was sold for.</p> <p>I was not allowed to visit the Cheese factory with cheese tasting because the guide said this is not included on this trip, only the Gruyere gold day trip.<br/> However the itinerary clearly says the cheese factory is included.<br/> Waste of money.</p>
