Fun in Costa Rica - This was the second Natives Way tour I’ve taken in Costa Rica and though the first one to Monteverde was excellent (so beautiful and educational )this tour outdid it with the action packed adventures!! One thing to remember is the pick up/travel time does tend to make it a long day but well worth it. I have to admit as someone in their sixties I was a tiny bit nervous about some of the activities but it was wonderful ! Beautifully organized and I always felt safe. The zip lining was exciting , the horseback riding showcased the area and the river tubing was a rush !! ☺️ A delicious buffet for lunch and then on to the rejuvenating thermal springs and optional volcano mud mask. After that it was travel back to original pick up locations. All in all a perfect day !

10/10 must experience - Action packed day . 8 zips lines and a Tarzan , I personally did not like the Tarzan rope because I struggle with heights and once clipped the person just pushed me without warning . Horse back riding was cool but I could have done without 45mins was too long for me without the proper riding pants Tubing was pretty awesome ! And is more white water rafting in a tube. The guides were extremely helpful also Hot springs and mud bath was my favorite but the 1 hour visit goes by too fast . My skin is still super soft from the mud.

Perfect (MUST DO) Day! - Incredible day! Tubing, ziplining, hot springs and chose waterfall (over horseback riding)... all amazing! Key for us was to get private driver as we were able to move from event to the next without having to wait on entire buses. Kenneth, our driver was absolutely incredible and really helped make our day perfect!!

Guachipelin Adventure Volcano Zipline, Horseback River Tubing Combo - On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 I had the most amazing experience on this tour! The key to this tour is the multiple changes of clothes to bring! Your first outfit is your swimsuit and water shoes. Your tour starts off with an amazing tubing ride down the river. You will get wet during this activity. This activity will benefit from bringing a waterproof camera or dry bag for your phone. During the tubing adventure, the photographers are positioned on the course. If you want to have the best shot of finding your pictures, it would be best to be in the front of the pack while tubing. For the tubing photos, at the end of the tour, if you buy the package you get everyone and need to filter out the ones that just have you. Once the tubing is complete, you will head back to the registration area where they have full-service restrooms and a place to change into your next outfit. Your next outfit should be suitable for zip lining and lunch. For zip lining I recommend cargo pants and a short sleeve shirt. You will also need closed toe shoes with laces, I.e. sneakers or something equivalent. You can’t do zip lining in open toe shoes. Prior to the zip line experience you are treated to a great buffet lunch at the dining area. Your tour guide will identify the table to sit at. You will be called upon when it is your turn to enter the line for the food. Once lunch completes get ready for an amazing zip line experience! It is an amazing engineering marvel. This team has engineered zip lines and platforms that are attached to the rock walls in the canyon! The staff is super nice and safety conscious. Listening to the staff will allow you to have a safe and amazing time! Similar to tubing, the photographers will take your photo. This zip line can move fast so be on the lookout for them on the platform you are headed towards. On previous zip lines I found I could hold my sports type camera in one hand and the harness in the other. This zip line required two hands on the harness and leaning back more when in motion. While the camera can get some quick shots when you land on a platform, the guides are moving the guests quickly from one zip line to the other and there is little time to pose. After the zip line you return to the registration area to drop off your harness. The drop off area has a gratuity box. Take a moment to reflect on the safety and fun you just had and make sure you leave something for the staff. This team just got your down the river, then got you through a zip line in a safe format. It is worth it to leave something for their great service! Once the zip line is complete you will head off for horseback riding. The zip line outfit you are wearing will be sufficient for horseback riding. The final activity you will visit is a hot spring. For this activity you will want another change of clothes that can get wet and a change of clothes after you come out of the hot spring. The hot spring is approximately a 10 minute walk from the parking lot. Once you arrive at the hot spring you will find various degrees to enjoy. You will want to change out of your wet clothes into dry clothes for the ride home. In summary, you will need the following clothes: 1. Clothes to ride on the shuttle bus that keep you comfortable in air conditioning 2. Swimsuit or equivalent that you can go tubing in 3. A dry set of clothes for lunch, ziplining and horseback riding 4. A new swimsuit for the hotsprint 5. A new dry set of clothes for the shuttle bus ride home This tour has many highlights but one of the standouts is the lunch! Prior to the zip lining you are served a delicious lunch with several local favorites! This tour takes place at the Guachipelin Hotel with a great restaurant. If you heeded the advice from this article, you will be sitting in dry clothes for lunch! If not, you are sitting in your wet swimsuit. Although the tubing, zip line and horseback riding team got you through a fun day, don’t forget a gratuity for you van driver and tour guide that got you from your hotel to the activity and back!

Zip lining and river tubing! - My friend and I had an amazing day on this tour. It started for us with zip lining (though it seems based on arrival time, they may switch people around). The zip lining eased us in by starting us through a canopy of trees and ended by sending us over several parts of the river inside a gorge. There is an optional rappel and rock climbing activity (it's short), but a non-optional tarzan swing over the gorge. As a person who is slightly afraid of heights, I felt safe the whole time and very much enjoyed it even though part of it was a bit scary. There are safety tethers and the guides do a great job moving you along and ensuring you're tethered to a safety cable at all times. The guides were fantastic and friendly. From there we returned to the main area to get on the horses to ride out to do the river tubing. The horses are kept in a corral and when the gauchos got us on the horses, they were ready to go. The actual trail is rocky and slightly hilly in places. Some of the horses are a bit head strong and didn't like some of the other horses and also didn't like the slow pace. This was our least favorite activity of the day and we were glad for the ride to be over. I think for the entire group we were with, people had mixed feelings about this activity. We got picked up by a bus for a quick ride to the river. We were given life jackets and helmets (helmets for everything and they are good to have). We walked down a bunch of stairs to the river and picked up our tubes and got in. WATER SHOES (or some type of shoe) ARE NEEDED AND REQUIRED. The river was 5km long and the guides were stationed throughout to help us over some of the larger rocks and rapids. This is NOT a lazy river, this is river tubing through rapids with a few slow places thrown in. Our group had the best time and this is possibly the favorite activity of the day. I did get dumped out of the tube at one point and lost a water shoe in the rapids and it was gone for good. It wasn't a big deal for me, it was still the best experience. The guides for this activity were also very attentive and playful. After the river tubing a bus drove us back to the main building again where there was a buffet lunch awaiting us. It was the BEST meal of rice, beans, fish, beef, potatoes, plantains, and various salads and sweets. We were served water and fresh watermelon juice as well. From lunch we went and purchased our pictures ($50 for two of us) and then got back in our tour van to go to the hot springs. It wasn't a long drive to the hot springs but there's a walk from the parking area, with bathrooms and changing rooms along the way. We tried out several of the thermal pools and the mud bath. The mud will definitely turn you and your things orange, so be careful what it touches (I threw away my apple watch band). After that we drove back to the city for hotel drop-offs. We were staying at Planet Hollywood, so we had to pay an extra $50 for pick-up and drop-off, and that driver met the main tour bus in the city. Photos: there are people stationed throughout taking pictures and for us they were worth buying because unless you had your phone strapped around your neck in a waterproof bag, it was almost impossible to take photos throughout the activity. Tips: the guides at the park have tip boxes in various places and they definitely deserve tips. They do a fantastic job. The tour guide and driver for the day also should be tipped. Be sure you go prepared with various bills (USD is more than ok). Notes: 1) There are plenty of bathrooms at the beginning and end of each activity, and opportunities to change if needed. 2) If you aren't able to do a lot of stairs (both up and down) this is probably not the best activity for you. 3) I would recommend wearing long shorts or long pants for the zip lining (because of the harness) and horseback riding. 4) Definitely take sunscreen and bug spray will be nice if you have it.

Family fun. Full long day. - We were picked up at Riu hotel by Daphne and Johnny. Both were super awesome. Daphne was very friendly and informative so we were happy to have them as our transportation and guides. She was on top of everything and made sure we were in right spots at all times. Johnny was an excellent driver. Smooth on the clutch which is a bonus. No one wants to get car sick from a bad driver. We were picked up 645am and we picked up two other groups along the way. We made a short stop at a mart to pick up breakfast / drinks / coffee (not included). We then arrived at the adventure place around 9 AM. It was a long start to the morning. Then we were handed off to the adventure groups where we did the zip lining first then horseback riding then the rafting. Took a lunch break. Then did the hot springs. The groups that ran you through all of the activities moved you along pretty quick. Little too quick maybe. Definitely felt rushed but also we were worried because our zip lining group had about 20 people. we didn’t have much after the first platform though and got through it quick. The horseback riding was a little unadventurous , but was fun. The rafting was a lot of fun and the guides on this tour were really good getting us through all of the rapids. The food was way better than expected. It was a buffet style at a small restaurant. We had about one hour at the Hot Springs and again here Daphne shined. Knew everything about them and how to do it proper. we got back to our hotel around 6 PM so it’s a pretty long full day excursion. For the price and activities it was worth it.
