A day we will never forget on the island of St. John’s Antigua - Our Royal Caribbean journey wasn't just about the luxurious ship and its amenities; it was about exploring the vibrant cultures and landscapes of the Caribbean islands and St. John's, Antigua, stands out as a day of pure exhilaration and discovery. The morning kicked off with an exciting Fat Tire Electric Bike Tours adventure led by Delray and Rafael. Forget pedaling uphill in the Caribbean heat! These e-bikes were amazing, and I made a mental note to purchase one back home. The bikes allowed us to effortlessly explore historic sites, lush landscapes, and breathtaking coastal views. Delray's passion for his island home shone through as he narrated our journey, weaving tales of Antigua's past and present. Rafael, our safety guardian at the back, ensured we enjoyed the ride with peace of mind. The seamless communication between Delray and Rafael, ensuring our safety throughout the e-bike tour, was another highlight. It allowed us to relax and completely enjoy the ride, knowing we were well cared for. But the adventure wasn't just about sightseeing; it was about feeling the wind in our hair and the sun on our skin, truly immersing ourselves in the island's spirit. And after all that exploration, what better way to refuel than with a delightful lunch at Hemingway's Caribbean Cafe & Restaurant at the port center. Kamisha, our server, welcomed us with her warm smile and genuine hospitality. The menu boasted an array of tempting options, catering to every dietary preference. From the succulent fried fish to the flavorful curries (lamb, shrimp) and being Jamaican I absolutely approved of the curry goat. The vibrant atmosphere, the delectable food, and Kamisha's excellent service made it a truly memorable dining experience. Overall, this day in St. John's, Antigua, was a perfect blend of adventure, cultural immersion, and culinary delight. Thanks to Fat Tire Electric Bike Tours, Delray, Rafael, Kamisha, for making it a day we’ll cherish forever. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in the Caribbean, a combination of exploration, local flavors, and friendly faces, don't miss out on this island opportunity!

Not the tour we signed up for - We signed up for the 2 hour tour because we really wanted to see Shirley Heights and this was our only opportunity during our visit. Unfortunately they changed our route and we didn't go to any of the places listed. Our tour guides (Dorian and Raphael) were wonderful and very knowledgeable and I know it wasn't their fault, but we were extremely disappointed. We spent hours on the same roads we took to get to the meeting point so didn't see much of anything new and some of the roads we were on felt extremely unsafe riding between traffic. After 3.5 hours of not going to any of the desired locations and an hour and a half past when we thought we would be done, we asked how much longer and they took us to the last stop which was a bar. They took pictures and videos throughout the ride but we have no idea how to get them? We assumed we would have an option to purchase but haven't heard anything. Overall we had a great time, loved the guides but wish we would have gotten what we signed up for and what we paid for.

Challenges.... - We have done E bike tours before and this one needs to fine tune a few things.. The bikes were heavy and hard to manage at slow speeds, the roads were filled with pot holes that we constantly had to avoid. At one point we went through a street with so many mud puddles that i was afraid I would tip over in the mud since we were all going slow to avoid splashing. There was no communication between the front guide and the rear guide so that if someone had to stop, the front guide wasn't aware and kept on going. We were please that one of the guides would stop traffic at the intersections so that we could cross safely. It was great to see so much of the island and have the head sets so our guide could explain where we were.

Give this a wide berth unless you like an adrenalin rush!!! - Terrible and quite dangerous experience. It was advertised as off road yet we had a fair bit of busy road to cover including the capital which was crazy. The brakes on my bike were sluggish thorough the ride and actually failed on a down hill if I had not been a strong cyclist I could have been badly injured.
