Additional Information

The Larco Museum holds a spot in the top 25 Museums worldwide, as per the 2017 Traveller’s Choice Awards by Tripadvisor. Rafael Larco Hoyle, an archaeologist and the founder of the Larco Museum, dedicated his life to the research and preservation of Peru’s early, pre-colonial cultures in the north. Larco Hoyle meticulously kept records of and valued the relics he found during his pioneering expeditions of northern Peru’s archaeology, and additionally acquired numerous private collections. Presently, the Larco Museum showcases close to 45,000 artifacts from the Mochica, Virú, Chimú, and Sipán Cultures, plus smaller societies that inhabited Peru in the pre-Incan period. Take a trip to Lima’s Historic Center, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can appreciate and study the plethora of architectural wonders.

First view of Peru - The guide Miguel is very friendly, fun and has a lot of knowledge about the history of pre-Columbian peoples. I found it very interesting how he knew how to explain details of the churches visited, the customs and the saints (Santo Domingo and Santa Rosa).

I was surprised by the beauty of the country. Vipac's guides are the best (I was also with another company). - Without a doubt the company with the best punctuality, cordiality, friendliness and instruction of its guides and drivers. I will remember Mayro, Oscar, Alexander and Yuber. They made all the difference on the trip. I say because I also booked tours with other companies.
