Good experience bad company - The sum of the experience overall was great. The activities were all curated to give a true sense of adventure. There was ATV, Zip-Line, Canoeing, wine tasting, honey tasting and all this interspersed with history and a sensational delve into the Peruvian culture. What missed the mark for me was how I felt treated by the other passengers and the overall poor attention paid to security. I’m black and travelled solo. It appeared I was the only foreigner on the tour. Others seemed to be Lima locals out for a Sunday family / couples adventure. From the seat back being pushed way down to rest on my lap, to being told rudely to get up from a seat in the bus returning us from canoeing to being looked down on, I get rather uncomfortable on the ride. I speak mostly fluent Spanish so the fact that the entire tour is in Spanish didn’t bother me. There were times some colloquialisms were used that I didn’t understand but that didn’t affect the experience much. Perhaps it was the wrong day of the week to visit. Or the wrong tour company was chosen. The guide Mirasol was very patient, engaging and helpful. She offered to take photos every step of the way and ensure I get included. If not for her I would’ve had a worst time. Go ahead and book this adventure if you’re a local. If you’re a tourist, look for another agency better suited for the tourist experience. Be warned this particular tour was exclusively in Spanish.
