Highlights
  • Paddywagon Tours - We leave historic Limerick City, and en-route we will view King Johns Castle and the river Shannon. We continue via County Clare to the west coast of Ireland.

  • Cliffs of Moher - We spend 1.5 hours at the Cliffs of Moher - one of the world’s greatest natural attractions. The cliffs stand 1/3 the size of the Empire State Building and have large populations of puffins and gannets. You can enjoy a hike or a relaxed walk, while gazing in amazement at this geological and natural beauty. The Cliffs of Moher also have shops and restaurants, anything from snacks and souvenirs available in plenty. Visitor charges at the Cliffs are included in the tour price saving you EUR 10.00. You will also receive a complimentary ticket to the award winning Atlantic Edge exhibition that examines all aspects of the mighty Cliffs of Moher.

  • Liscannor - We depart from the Cliffs of Moher for a stop in Liscannor a tiny west of Ireland village where you may wish to enjoy a delicious local lunch (optional), maybe a seafood chowder or lamb stew with a regional craft beer (optional). There are options to suit everyone from red meat to vegan and everything in between. On the way we will have superb views of the Atlantic coast and the Aran Islands.

  • Wild Atlantic Way - This afternoon we’ll round off the day by taking a spectacular drive along the coast through the limestone scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way. The region all around us is known as the Burren - incredible local landscape!

  • Bunratty Castle and Folk Park - On the way back to Limerick we’ll stop for refreshments, restrooms and coffee, sodas, water etc. Instead of stopping at a motorway service station this refreshment stop will be at medieval Bunratty Castle - much more interesting!

Enjoy a brief stroll to stretch your legs, grab some quick photos and maybe some quick souvenir purchases from the shop.

We’ll soon be back on the road to have you back in Limerick to freshen up ahead of evening entertainment arrangements.

  • Paddywagon Tours - We leave Bunratty Castle for the short return drive to Limerick. The tour finishes at 16:30 approx. (Passengers from.UL please note that due to traffic conditions you will be dropped off in the city center)

To see the country with the variations nature has to offer. - Good driver and guide, good communicator of interesting stories. Fantastic cliffs that are also a real tourist machine. Tired bus.

Fabulous! - Overall it was fabulous. A word of caution to anyone need the bathrooms at the restaurant shop, they were challenging to access and limited. Really enjoyed the Irish music played on the drive.

Paddy wagon is great - Booked through viator but tour was through Paddy wagon tours. Our driver and guide was fantastic. He had a lot of background information to share and played some wonderful music in between. He was a very safe driver and we enjoyed him very much.

Great experience with Paddy Wagon :) - We were so happy to see the Cliffs of Moher this way. We wouldn‘t have been able to see them without this tour. It was great to also see some other small villages on the west coast of Ireland, and our driver would tell us much about the surrounding and what we‘re just passing. I can defenetly recommend this tour!

Touristy - The Cliffs were spectacular and the bus was convenient and left latecomers behind at stops (they were warned!). We appreciated not having to wait hours for them!. However places visited very touristy and not really our type of tour.

Bad experience on a day tour - We booked this trip following what Trip Advisor posted- that we would be stopping in Doolin. We did not. Plus the bus was cramped as it appeared we shared it with another tour. Did see the Cliffs and they are amazing. We actually got an Uber from the Bunratty to our hotel. We won’t do this again.

Worst tour we've ever been on! - The bus arrived over 20 minutes late and had mechanical issues leading to further delays during the day. The bus was very large (holding approximately 100 passengers) and nearly full when it arrived in Limerick (had picked up many people in Cork before coming to Limerick, something we could not see from the booking) forcing us to take the last two seats in the very back on the top level if we wanted to sit together and see anything along the way. Our booking had indicated a maximum group size of 40. We were delayed leaving the Cliffs of Moher for 20 minutes by the bus mechanical issues. We never "explored the Burren" as advertised unless you consider driving through the countryside on the bus as "exploration". We did not see any rock formations and nothing was pointed out to us along the way. Lunch in the "quaint fishing village of Liscannor" was a 40 minute stop at a restaurant on the outskirts of town that served food cafeteria style. We never went into the quaint village. We arrived at Bunratty Castle just after it had closed for the day, forcing us to either buy more food or shop at the places catering to tourists. We arrived back in Limerick 40 minutes later than advertised after riding around in a very large bus with a lot of people for about five hours and only seeing the Cliffs of Moher. Very disappointing to say the least!

Do not recommend - The coach was late picking us up and the people that were already on board got off then we had to wait an additional 15 min for then to get back to the bus. It made us 30 minutes late leaving. Then on our way to the cliffs, a car flagged us down to tell the bus driver the he was on a road with 2 bridges that we wouldn't be able to cross. We had to turn around and go back to take a different route. By time we got to the cliffs we only had 40 minutes, which is not near enough time. They only allowed us 30 minutes at bunratty castle, again that isn't enough time to actually walk to the castle and walk back. The only time the guide shared anything is to tell us what time we had to be back on the bus. Not a good excursion.

Only Half of a Tour🤬 - The pick up was at Arthur’s Quay in Limerick. The tour bus was late. The tour guide randomly shuffled through the crowd of people waiting for various other tour groups and people boarding and un-boarding local city transportation to round up Paddy wagon customers. There is not enough information on the website to let you know what to look for as the bus does not indicate that it’s a Paddy-wagon tour bus. I had absolutely no idea what was going on. I tried calling the company phone number but got a, “this number is not in service” message. The tour bus left the cliffs just as I approached it (2 minutes late due to a long restroom line). I waved at the driver with both arms and he just passed me by. I ended up finding my way back on the TFI bus service that the locals use. It was a beautiful ride back to limerick and the buses had phone chargers unlike the Paddy wagon bus, which actually advertised it as amenity of the tour. Plus, I wasn’t duped into eating lunch at The Frantic Chef which the tour company owns. By the way, the tour guide wasn’t that great either, he seemed more concerned with selling boat rides and talking up the restaurant. All in all, I had a good experience on the TFI bus with a phone charger so I could learn about the landmarks using my iPhone; plus hop off and catch the next bus if I wanted a closer look.
