Additional Information

The significance of Fátima stretches beyond its immediate vicinity and the encompassing nation, as we embark on an exploration starting with a visit to the rural homes of the three shepherds in the Aljustrel village, which is located four kilometers from the Sanctuary. These were the dwelling places of Lúcias dos Santos and her relatives Jacinta and Francisco, the trio of shepherds who experienced the celestial manifestations of the Virgin Mary in 1917.

We then proceed towards the Sanctuary that hosts multiple sites of interest, most notably the small Chapel of Apparitions constructed precisely at the spot where these divine sightings occurred, alongside two Basilicas: Our Lady of the Rosary, housing the shepherds’ thumbs, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, ranking among the largest catholic churches globally.

At the sanctuary, you will avail ample time to traverse the sacred complex, partake in the mass, and tour the numerous religious structures constituting the sanctuary. A singular voyage through the layers of faith and history enveloping one of Portugal’s most renowned landmarks. A remarkable spiritual journey.

Peace! - Quiet ride, kept to schedule. I'm Catholic so the route was chosen. This time of year was beneficial because there weren't many people.

Peaceful , Prayerful and Friendly visit to Fatima - Informative , friendly and well driven . Luis was a lovely guide switching easily between English and Spanish ensuring all guests got the same wonderful experience . We were left to attend mass in the shrine and time to browse before being safely returned to Lisbon . Thank you Luis.

Beautiful trip to Fatima Sites. - An excellent excursion from Lisbon. Our guide Alex was fantastic and provided great info on Portugal, Lisbon and the Fatima story. He was very accommodating to everyone on the trip. The Fátima site is extraordinary. Very large and beautiful. The sheperd’s - Jacinto, Lucia and Francesco - homes by contrast are in very tiny village and interesting to see the contrast. Highly recommend this trip.

Wonderful Spiritual Pilgrimage! - Excellent tour and professional guides. Thanks so much Luis for looking out for me. Enjoyed! Recommend Cool Tours of just 8 passengers. I enjoyed visiting the Basilica of The Lady of Fatima The Virgin Mary Mother of Christ. I also attended Mass in the Basilica with thousands of other believers. The largest gathering of believers of the Lord Jesus Christ and other saints who are God fearing people. A true blessing and I had a special blessing of personally being a witness to “The Miracle of the Sun” as I prayed for God to have mercy on my sister, Ann, who was terminally ill in pain and suffering. The Lord took her to heaven while I was in prayer at Fatima. How much mightier can a prayer to God get? It was an amazing experience that will last me forever, I am so grateful! Brenda T

Fatima was Great - Very good tour. Large air conditioned minibus was comfortable. Tour guides were great, told about Fatima and the story of how the three children saw the holy apparition. Visiting the home of two of the children, and looking at some of the homes still standing just as it was back in the early 1900s was historical. Visiting the churches, sanctuaries was inspirationa. Attended the mass, spoken in Portuguese, at the basilica. Delightful tour.

Poor Marriott Bonvoy Homing experience - I stayed at a Marriott Bonvoy homing apartment in Lisbon, Largo dos Arautos, for four nights in May 2024. The apartment itself was clean, but the furnishings were poor. The rug in the living area was old, and with many stains. After having spent two nights in a beautiful Marriott hotel in Porto, with comfortable bedding and nice towels, the apartment in Lisbon was a huge disappointment! My queen bed had an uncomfortable mattress, with a poorly fitting, old flat sheet barely covering it, (no fitted sheet) and just a thin duvet as a cover. There was no top sheet (except the above mentioned). The two pillows were small and lumpy. There was no extra bedding, no blanket or extra pillows. There were two older towels left for each person, certainly not what one gets in a Marriott hotel. There was no hand soap in the bathrooms requiring us to go to supermarket to buy. There was no hair dryer, as advertised. I can say that the apartment was clean, but otherwise would never recommend a Marriott Bonvoy apartment. It is certainly not what is advertised, and does not meet the Marriott standards! I thought for sure, that I would have a much better experience!
