A must do when visiting Lisbon! Great way to spend a day immersed in Lisbon cuisine, wine, friends, family even solo! - A must do for Lisbon! Highly recommend for solo, couples, teen families and friends. Literally all were represented in our small group. The recipes are fun and thoroughly engaging (you will learn how to bone a fish yourself) The local market tour was both impressive and quaint. No cooking experience is needed but you will leave feeling like a pro. Fun day ending with a delicious family style multi course meal. My only criticism was the time spent at the market should and could be shortened to 45 min. Also it was a bit awkward doing the bread and cheese tasting at the entrance when there was ample unused seating area behind the pork tasting section.

Review of Cooking Lisbon class - This was a fantastic experience for my wife and me. The facilitator, Filipa did a great job showing us the market and was very patient and knowledgeable in showing us how to prepare the ingredients for a meal. The tour was supposed to last 4 hours but actually last 5 and a half hours and we enjoyed EVERY minute of it!

A MUST for foodies! - This tour was an incredible way to experience a part of the Portuguese culture. We started out by going to the local market for fish and vegetables. This was unlike any market I’ve ever seen with the variety and quality of foods. We then went back to the Cooking Lisbon location, where we were greeted with a wonderful spread of breads, cheeses, olives and spreads, as well as wine local to the region, for as we were told…” you should never cook on an empty stomach “. We then went on to prepare 5 dishes which everyone was able to participate in. Everything was very relaxed and of the highest quality. One of my best experiences anywhere!

Savory, Simple, Scrumptious - Such a wonderful and enriching time was spent with Fillipa, our instructor today. Class began promptly, so off we went to the market to visit various vendors. The bread baker offered the history and culture of bread baking in Portugal that enriched the experience of eating bread all the more. We trekked backed to the kitchen where we learned simple, but tasty Lisboan recipes that can easily be encorporated into daily menus back home. But most importantly, the students assembled shared their views and stories that completed the rich beauty of the day.

Wonderful Class & Tour - This was an amazing experience! Chef Marco & Chef Fernanda were incredibly helpful, fun, informative and created an educational and relaxing atmosphere. The food was great and we appreciate being able to have the recipes. The market tour was also fun and was great to see all of the different fish and produce available. My wife and I would take this class again (whenever we make it back to Lisbon)!

Cooking Lisbon Market Tour and cooking class was amazing - We had an amazing experience at Cooking Lisbon. Chefs Pedro and Philippa walked us to the Market where they explained what we were buying and why. Chef Pedro even changed up the menu slightly when the intended ingredient was not up to this standards. They were very patient while we were learning new skills. The food was excellent and so was the wine. I would recommend Cooking Lisbon to anyone and would consider doing another class if we ever get back to Lisbon

Absolute wonderful immersion experience - What an amazing immersion experience with Chef Pedro! We started off the lesson visiting a local market where we shipped for fresh seafood and vegetables for our ingredients. While there we also got to sample local bread and cheeses. The class itself was a bit of work but lots of fun. Even my teenage daughter enjoyed rolling up her sleeves and learning to cook. We made a 4 course meal consisting of bread soup, mussels, seafood captaplana and orange torte. We also got to sample some oysters and goose barnacles. All in all a wonderful way to spend 1/2 a day learning more about the Portuguese culture. Highly recommend!

Not my favorite. - One of my least favorite cooking classes. I guess if you've never been to one it was probably ok, but I've done several in 3 countries. The market tour was bland in a very small local market. The food we cooked was bland as well. The chef was personable and fun to be around, but probably just following the script. The low price tag should have been a clue.
