National Palace of Queluz - This is the first monument to visit, it takes around 1:30h to visit. I’ll be waiting for you for the next monument.
The National Palace of Queluz, also known as Queluz Royal Palace, is a Portuguese royal residence, in the municipality of Sintra, which was built as such between 1747 and 1760 on the project of the architect Jean-Baptiste Robillon and at the behest of Prince Pietro (Pedro) III (1717-1786) husband of Queen Maria I (1734-1816) who transformed a pre-existing country residence.
Called the “Versailles of Portugal”, the palace was used above all as a place of entertainment for the royal family: concerts, bullfights and fireworks were held there, especially on the occasion of religious holidays or other events.
Queen Maria I lived here for many years, but otherwise the palace was not very frequented by the royal family.
It is still used for concerts and as a reception place for foreign heads of state, it also houses the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.

Sintra areain the rain - Our guide Antonio picked us up promptly at our lodging in Sintra. His van was clean, comfortable and he had water. Most importantly he had rain gear as the weather got ugly.
Pena Palace was the first stop of the day. Antonio got us in quickly and gave us tips to avoid the crowds. Pena Palace is a must see.
As mentioned it was raining and windy so Antonio changed up the itinerary a bit.
Drove to Cabo da Roca and Cascais. We all had a lovely lunch at a local Antonio recommended spot. Got to see Estoril as well. As the weather cleared we ventured out of the van to Quinta Regaleira.
This was our first tour since landing in Lisbon. Antonio made the day enjoyable despite the weather. He is so engaging, informative and flexible. We would recommend him to everyone!

Antonio is the Best! - Antonio has a rich depth of history and local knowledge that he delivers with patience, humor and genuine interest. He is an excellent and safe driver and knows all the best ways to avoid the crowds, park close to the monuments and avoid the lines. As a guide he accompanied us on many of the visits and walks and his charm and good spirit was a real plus. We never felt rushed and he would often say “I do it for you as I would for myself” He took us to several out-of-the-way places that were not the usual tourist fare and these experiences were some of the best on our trip. We would give him 100 stars if we could! Thank you Antonio!

Many things to do in a single day - Very well organized tour. Antonio has a lot of experience and thanks to this he allows you to see many things in a single day. If you go on your own it is impossible to do so since the Sintra area only allows authorized vehicles. Highly recommendable

Amazing time in Sintra - We had an an amazing day visiting Sintra with our guide Antonio. We were able to do much more than we thought we would. Antonio made the tour interesting and entertaining even for our teenage kids. He also went above and beyond by providing information for the rest if our trip through Portugal. A must do!

Best Portugal Experience - Never expected the tour to be such a wonderful experience. Antonio made it so fun and relaxing given that he was so accommodating, flexible and spontaneous. This is my first time seeing Portugal and he made me want to come back again. Trully the best experience. Will surely recommend him to everyone i know who plans to visit Portugal. Obrigada, Antonio!

Fantastic tour! Loved it! - We went on a trip to Sintra with António. It was amazing! He was the best guide, told us a lot about everything we saw. We could do the trip in our own tempo, and whenever we wanted to go, António was there. He gave us tips about what we should see and try (like icecream and codfish). António is the best tourguide, he is so very kind!!!

A fully custom perfect day. - We had an incredible day with Antonio. He is a gracious host and proud ambassador for Portugal, who loves nothing more than showing off the beauty of the country and catering to his clients’ specific interests. The most important thing to know is that you are getting Antonio for the whole day, and he is more than happy to customize the itinerary as you wish. He remains very flexible and will make midcourse corrections as needed. He will take you to “secret” spots with amazing vistas and will give you his unbiased view on what is worth it and what you can skip. Unless you say otherwise, expect that you will visit the pastry shop in Sintra frequented by locals and then a hyper local family restaurant later in the day where everybody knows your name.
Our only regret is that we had other plans that evening and could not extend our day as Antonio was more than willing to do.
Just book it and figure out the details later. You won’t regret it.
