“Skip the line” and first in cloisters and monastery! - First in line for entry to the Jeronimos Monastery thru Cooltours! This is the same “skip the line” tour agency that is on the monastery website with tickets sold by Headout. Don’t be confused by the 3.3 stars review — that’s for the Headout experience and NOT Cooltours which should be 5 stars! Best life decisions ever to skip the line! Our group today was lucky and was the FIRST to enter the cloisters, meaning it was COMPLETELY empty and quiet for the first few minutes — which is a true special treat and rarity considering how busy this site becomes (minutes later, a big group followed us). This rarity was because Ricky, our wonderful tour guide, was SUPER early before EVERYONE else and other tour groups, and he was the first in line to hold the spot for the group. When we got out of the monastery at 10:30am, the lines were already wrapped all the way to the end of the block. You will be lucky if you get Ricky as a guide. Not only was he exceptional securing the first in line, he is a talented storyteller and passionate about sharing all his knowledge. You will leave learning so much history and understanding a bit more about the symbology and history behind this amazing site. Travelers — if you’re a “precautionary” “preemptive toilet stop” kind of traveler, please try to use the bathroom on your own BEFORE arriving the monastery or after on your own. Not inside the monastery before the group enters the cloisters :) It’s about 1 hour inside. You can do it! It gets really busy REALLY fast with groups and travelers at the monastery. A few minutes wait at the stairs before going inside the cloisters can potentially mean an entire group go before us.
