Whether your journey stops at Livorno port or you’re already enjoying the beauty of Florence, a trip to the stunning region of ‘Cinque Terre’ is a fantastic decision. It’s just about a 75-minute hassle-free drive from the port, landing you in the picturesque port town of La Spezia. From there, your driver will guide you to the terminal for a small ferry ride, taking you on a striking tour of the 5 towns. Then, you’re free to explore at your own pace, before returning via boat or rail to La Spezia, where you’ll regroup with your driver for a safe trip back to your ship in Livorno.

Great activity for cruise ship shore excursion - We had a great time in cinque terre. Communication for the tour was easy. We probably could have visited four villages of the 5 during our available time 10-630 but only ended up seeing Riogmaggiore, Corniglia and Vernazza. The latter was probably the favorite as it’s the prettiest. Somewhat more touristy. The drive there is a windy or or two lane road but handled expertly by our driver Ricardo who was friendly and engaging and communicated well about pickup times in each village. People who easily get carsick would not have done well n the drive. This was an expensive tour but we appreciated that it was just our party of 8. It was about 2h each way from our cruise port in Livorno but drive was worth it given the uniqueness of the location.
