Embark on a day trip from Ljubljana and visit three of the most famous attractions in Slovenia. Admire the beauty of Lake Bled and ride a traditional ‘pletna’ boat to Bled Island, where you may have the chance to sample the delicious ‘potica’ nut cake. Take time to discover Bled Castle, hovering over the lake, before taking a break for lunch. Wrap up your journey with a visit to the cliff-based Predjama Castle and a mini-train ride into Postojna Cave, renowned for its network of stalactites, stalagmites and haunting chambers.
Enjoy a comprehensive one-day tour of Slovenia’s prime tourist spots. Our tour includes a traditional pletna boat ride to Bled island—Slovenia’s only island—plus a visit to the Church of the Assumption. There, you can ring the wishing bell, which has chimed over Lake Bled since 1534. Following the boat ride, you’ll discover the millennium-old Bled castle, one of Slovenia’s standout castles. Here, you’ll visit the castle museum, which offers a glimpse into the history of the area. Be sure to spend a few moments admiring the stunning views of Lake Bled from the castle’s viewpoints.
In the afternoon, we’ll delve into some subterranean wonders. Visit Postojna Cave, internationally renowned and one of the grandest Karst wonders. Kick-start the adventure with a special train ride, taking you through the cave’s galleries and magnificent halls teeming with fascinating stalactites, stalagmites and the famous cave-dwelling olm (proteus anguinus). A scenic drive will take us to the idyllic village of Predjama, where we’ll explore the intriguing Predjama Castle. Nestled high in a vertical cliff, it ranks among the top 10 world’s must-see castles. The notorious Erazem of Predjama (Erasmus) is the central character of many tales, simultaneously painted as a chivalrous knight and a bandit who met his end tragically in the toilet.
