One of the best train journeys in the world - Its a fabulous journey from start to finish, the views along the route are breath-taking. It is always late so allow plenty of time and it will be busy but its a must do while in Sri Lanka. 2nd and 3rd class have windows that open but no aircon. 1st class has aircon but windows do not open. All classes have doors at the end of each carriage that open so wait in the que for the famous photo hanging out of the train.

Memorable Ride! - Very good views and it was a memorable ride. Seats were comfortable. A little anxiety for not receiving the physical tickets earlier but it was still on time. It was confusing to find the seat numbers but we reached out to the uniformed staff to ask. Overall, the train ride really opened up our hearts to see endless hills and beautiful scenary of Sri Lanka.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING - Nilanka and Geesara were AMAZING! I originally booked the train ride, then Geesara sent me a WhatsApp advising how to collect the tickets etc. He then asked if I needed any other help with our holiday, I was looking for a driver so sent him our itinerary and he was so easy to speak to and arrange it. I just got a good vibe off Geesara. When we arrived in Sri Lanka, Nilanka was there waiting for us and honestly he is a legend!! What a nice guy, so genuine and helpful he really did make our experience that bit better! When I was my birthday he bought balloons and stuff for his van, it was so nice!! We also met Geesara in Ella and he brought me a birthday cake, honestly would highly highly recommend this company. Thank you so much!!

The only tour guide you will ever need! - I worked with Geesara originally to book our train tickets from Kandy to Ella. Not only was he extremely responsive via WhatsApp, but he offered to help us with any of the other travel needs we had. Over the course of the next two weeks, we worked with Geesara to book: -car transport from Kandy train station to our hotel - day trip in Kandy to Sigariya - car transport from our hotel to the Kandy train station - transport from Arugam Bay to Colombo - transport from our hotel to the airport Geesara was extremely professional, responded nearly immediately to all my requests, and he got us a great deal on all these journeys, even with the fuel crisis and other issues going on in Sri Lanka. The drivers were professional, courteous, and on time as well. If you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka, I strongly recommend working with Geesara for your transport and sightseeing needs.

Do not use this company! Scammers! - We bought three tickets from this company for the train ride to Ella two weeks in advance. They said they would deliver the tickets in person to our hotel the day prior to departure. They never showed up. This company told us many different things about when they would be delivered and they were all lies. Here is how the trains work. 3rd class seats don’t sell out. You can buy them at the train station for cheap and at the actual cost of the ticket. You won’t be guaranteed a seat. Companies like this this, buy out the reserved seating tickets and scalp them through trip advisor etc. The tickets should only be a few dollars but instead they sell them for $20/person. Okay, it is what it is, but then if you are at a hotel they don’t want to drive to, or if no one else is buying a ticket that day, they will just keep your money and not bring you the train tickets because it is mot worth their time. The whole system is a scam for this train. The only way you get a real ticket is to pick it up from the railway station itself. Any other method goes through these illegitimate people where they can easily just take your money. If I were to do it again, I would buy a ticket at the train station and then just tip someone sitting down for their seat. This company still hasn’t refunded our money.
