Highlights
  • Hollywood Walk of Fame - The Hollywood Walk of Fame features over 2,600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars set into the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. These stars serve as permanent public tributes to accomplishments in the entertainment industry, showcasing the names of a diverse group of musicians, actors, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and more. Managed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by the self-financing Hollywood Historic Trust, the Walk of Fame is a major tourist attraction, drawing an estimated 10 million visitors in 2003. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce holds the trademark rights to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  • Griffith Park - The Griffith Observatory, located in Los Angeles, California, is situated on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood within Griffith Park. It offers a panoramic view of the Los Angeles Basin, including Downtown Los Angeles to the southeast, Hollywood to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. The observatory is a well-loved tourist spot, providing a close view of the Hollywood Sign and a wide range of space and science-related exhibits. Since its opening in 1935, admission has been free, honoring the wishes of Griffith J. Griffith, the benefactor for whom the observatory is named.
  • Sunset Strip - The Sunset Strip is a 1 1⁄2-mile (2.4 km) section of Sunset Boulevard that runs through West Hollywood, California. It stretches from West Hollywood’s eastern boundary with Los Angeles (Hollywood) at Crescent Heights Boulevard to its western boundary with Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive. The Sunset Strip is famous for its boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs, as well as its numerous large, vibrant billboards.

Best experience in Los Angeles with Starline Tours - For those who want to use their day for the beach, to shop and celebrity spot, the Hollywood City Night Tour is the answer. Tour is 3 hours and I visited Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, Downtown Los Angeles, Farmers Market, and down amazing Sunset- Boulevard . Also the tour includes a stop at the Griffith Observatory, Southern California s ' gateway to the cosmos' originally made famous in the James Dean movie, Rebel without a Case, and LA LA Land. I made many photos . I really recommand this experience. Guide it was fantastic, he told us a lot of info about all places visited on night. I m very happy because I can say now a lot of things about LA. Is my favourite city from US. Located in the heart of Hollywood Starline Tours is a great company. If you are in LA contact them for a great tour . They have CitySightseeing Hop on Hop off and Celebrity Homes Tour, Malibu Celebrity Homes Tour, also, The Ultimate Private Hollywood Tour.

HAL was Amazing! - In fairness the whole tour was amazing. They picked us up from our accommodation. Hal was amazing. We saw all the highlights and more. He knew so much and stopped to let us off if we wanted a photo. ABSOLUTELY AWSOME.

Not what it could be - Unfortunately this tour did not live up to its promise... I was so eager to see the Griffiths Observatory and checked that this was included when booked. What I wasn’t told was that it was only a drive by - no time to stop, take photos and soak in that view. In fact the whole tour was just lots of driving, only stop was at the Farmers Market for a very late dinner. And a long 45 minutes wandering around Hollywood and Highland before getting in the bus. We also got back an hour later than told (11pm not 10pm)... ok but don’t plan on an early morning the next day. The guide was lovely and did his best - he certainly knew a lot about the city and was keen to share it.

Underwhelmed - Part of the problem with this tour is that it was the last one of the evening. We didn't get to see the Hollywood sign as it was too dark. Because we left from the Hotel near the Airport, the traffic seemed to take forever. That's not really the fault of the tour, but it is something to keep in mind. Our Guide was not that great which is so important on a tour. Not much information from him that would help keep the tour interesting. Because it was so dark, we really didn't get to see much of the view outside the tour van. We have taken a lot of tours in the past and this was one of the worst for us. It might be better during the day and if you didn't have to spend so much time in traffic. We also had to deal with some administrative issues which were a nightmare, so I would advise you ensure you are given and ticket and keep it incase there is a problem. On a positive side We did get to see part of the Hollywood Walk of fame, The outside of Gruman's Chinese Theater, a store where you could buy souvenirs. The last stop was a food market but again, because of the time, it was closing so almost all of the food booths had closed.

Never Again - Worst tour ever Tour L04 - Took a chance with this tour. Picked up from hotel and taken to a back street in some semi-industrial area to meet with the tour and make final payment for the tour. A caravan parked in a driveway and they took our money. Only 6 people on the tour. most of the attractions were seen as we drove past or from a distance, Hollywood sign was seen from 2.1/4 miles away on Hollywood Blvd. Rodeo Drive, well we drove past a sign that said that at 30mph (did not go down it.) and driver said we saw it. Out of a 5 hour tour, 2 1/4 hours spent at the company shops or locations (30 mins at a park with Mexican singer, 45 mins at company souvenir shop, 60 mins Farmers market). On the way back to our drop off, the driver held up a brochure and said "We saw Hollywood sign. Beverly hills, drove through downtown LA, walk of fame (was in front of their shop) and you had dinner at the farmers market" (we arrived at 8:30 and it closed at 9:00).

Night tour without night value - Imagine LA night tour without visiting neon lit Sunset Strip or seeing the iconic Griffith Observatory night skyline. Instead, listen to standard 1920s Hollywood history commentary while driving through empty and dark Downtown office blocks. Includes a 45min break at Farmers Market, however after 8pm when most of the food court places have closed already.. Starts with a 1-hour waiting / walking tour at Chinese Theater you could do well without the guide as you wil not hear anything from his loudspeakef anyway. A complete waste of time and money compared to Startours brilliant night tour a couple of years ago.

Worst non-experience ever! - I've written a lot of reviews for TA over the years, and this is my first negative one ever! I booked the City tours by night before I left Australia, as I only had a 36 hour stopover in LA. I was at the confirmed meeting area at least 20 mins before the time that I was meant to be, and nobody came to pick me up! When I realised no-one was coming, I asked the concierge, who said, Oh yes, a man came... in a plain mini bus...did not go near the planned meeting spot, but went into reception and asked for me. So they rang my room, no answer - because I was at the MEETING SPOT, not in my room!! So they left! Still without looking at the meeting spot! Words might convey my anger but cannot describe my disappointment! I emailed them immediately but got no response. Over the next few weeks, that turned into months, they ignored me. My daughter finally got onto Starline, and they promised me a refund at last. But, no surprise, I have never received a refund and have now given up. I will never ever waste my money on this company again, and I suggest the same for anyone considering using them!
