Highlights
  • Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam) - Wat Lokayasutharam is home to the impressive Phra Noon (Reclining Buddha), a colossal reclining Buddha statue that serves as the main attraction. The site is further enriched by the presence of two other ancient temples and surrounding ruins, adding to the historical and cultural atmosphere.
  • Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon - Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, situated in Ayutthaya, Thailand, is a grand Buddhist temple with deep historical and cultural roots. Dating back to the 14th century, this ancient temple is renowned for its prominent central prang, or pagoda, which stands out against the skyline. The temple complex also features rows of seated Buddha statues and stupas, creating a serene spiritual environment.
  • Wat Mahathat - Also known as the “Monastery of the Great Relic,” Wat Na Phra Men was once a bustling center of Buddhism in the Ayutthaya Kingdom before being set ablaze by Burmese invaders. One of its most iconic features is the image of a Buddha head entwined within the roots of a tree, making it one of the temple’s most recognizable symbols. Often referred to as “The Monastery in Front of the Funeral Pyre,” Wat Na Phra Men is home to the crowned Buddha, its most significant image. This majestic Buddha, seated in the Subduing Mara posture, is impressive in size—6 meters tall and 4.50 meters wide across the lap. Made of metal and adorned with gold leaf, the crowned Buddha is dressed in royal attire, complete with a crown, earrings, necklace, chest ornament, and arm jewelry, adding a touch of regal splendor to the temple’s spiritual ambiance.
  • Wat Chaiwatthanaram - This stunning temple lights up your evening memories with its glittering presence. Dress in traditional Thai attire from Ayutthaya, available for rent at nearby shops, and offer your prayers for guaranteed blessings. Capture a picture-perfect memory of ancient times, blending the temple’s beauty with the charm of Thai tradition.
  • Chao Praya River - River Boat Ride around Ayutthaya: Experience the riverside culture of Ayutthaya as you take in the best sights, including local villages, ruins, the ancient city, pagodas, and temples—all from the comfort of your own personal boat.

No respect for your time and really racist tour guide - This has been the worst tour I have ever taken. It was not 8 hours as listed but 12. They have no respect for your time. When they came to pick us up, we meet with the tour guide and he told us to sit and have breakfast before we left. When we got on the tour bus there were two people waiting on it. We had no idea, we cdoulnt think anyone could be that inconsiderate. He did the same thing at every spot. It took about 2 hours to pick the few other people that came with us. The tour guide has really racist jokes and makes inapropriate comments. He does not present the history of the buildings or explains their significance. Intead he talks about the king that was alive when they were built. I learn nothing of Ayutthaya or its history. Everyone kept trying to leave as he spoke and he kept making them come back. He then offer an optional boat ride for an extra charge, he said that it took the same as the bus, but those of us who stayed had to wait an extra 30 minutes for boat to arrive to the next stop. When we asked what time we should expect to be at our hotel as we had plans he told us 4 pm, but we did not arrive until close to 6. Do not book this tour.
