  • Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam) - # 11:00: Phaa Noon (Reclining Buddha at Wat Lokayasutharam). Wat Lokayasutharam features Phra Noon (Reclining Buddha), a significant feature being a huge reclining Buddha image. The compound area also includes two other ancient temples and a ruined site.

Wat Lokayasutharam features Phra Noon (Reclining Buddha), a significant feature being a huge reclining Buddha image. The compound area also includes two other ancient temples and a ruined site.

It was constructed of bricks and cement in the art style of the Middle Ayutthaya Period. It is 37 meters long and 8 meters high. There are other impressive Reclining Buddha images in Ayutthaya, but this seems to be the largest.

Fantastic visit to Ayutthaya with best guide yet. - We had a wonderful day and learned a ton about the history of Thailand and Ayutthaya from Mai. We were a small group, which was ideal, and kept a good pace with clear meeting times when we broke off on our own. Bonus, we found out Mai spoke a little Spanish in addition to English, which made for a fun day of word play between Thai, English, and Spanish. The value was absolutely there for the price and Mai was even sending us photos via WhatsApp during the drive between tour stops. We've done self-guided and had some great guides through tour companies throughout our two week holiday, but Mai was the best!!

Amazing time with the best ever guide - We, a party of seven, spent a wonderful day in Ayutthaya, with a professional and friendly tour guide, Lin. She knows a lot about everything and her explanations were clear and entertaining. She tried to know us as much as possible at the beginning of this day trip, so we enjoyed our first visits to the historical sites at our place. Her choice of restaurant was perfect. Thanks a lot, Lin! See you again!

Great tour, pity about the onboarding - The tour itself was really good and it was great to learn about the history from experienced guides. Lunch was pretty simple. Pity about the terrible booking experience and meeting point experience. Tour operator was giving the wrong instructions about the meeting point, and seemed really disorganised. Communication was really poor causing a lot of frustration and confusion. While I enjoyed the tour itself, I wouldn’t book with this tour operator again.
