Ayutthaya brought to life - The green countryside by coach, passionate briefing on the Ayutthaya by tour guide Dona, and the lunch on the cruise back. The historical ruins are a real treasure to see.

Excellent Tour - We had read quite a few reviews on different tours to Ayutthaya and were a little worried about a number of people saying there was not enough time at the ruins. I am glad to say, we found it plenty of time. For us, as it is for many, the humidity was a killer and we found the time spent at each place allowed us to enjoy the sites and then be back on the bus for a bit of relief. It is an early start but we were not in the pick up zone so did not have to be there until 7.15 a.m. Beware, if you are making your own way to the bus departure meeting point, allow plenty of time. The traffic was horrendous. We only just made it. All staff were extremely courteous and our guide Paishn was very knowledgeable. The only negative is that we just could not hear his commentary on the bus and could only pick out a few bits and pieces as he spoke. We were given an ice cold bottle of water as we got back on after the first stop which was appreciated The luncheon cruise was relaxing and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. The other misconception we made was in thinking the cruise came back down the river from a point after Ayutthaya and we were not the only ones. In fact, the bus took us back to the pickup point and we hopped on the cruise there. All in all, this was good value for money and we would definitely recommend.

We really loved this tour - The guide was very nice and answered to all our questions and provided an overall nice insight into the history of the places we visited She even knew architectural details of the temples. Great experience, We really loved the tour, although it was extremely hot. It was a very wonderful experience.

Great tour - The hotel pickup was on time but the tour guide although nice hardly gave us pertinent historical facts about Ayuthaya & the temples. The river cruise was nice & the food was very good.

Not worth the time or money - Guides/operators were confused a lot, too much time taken to pose for pictures instead of walking and providing explanations, boat is old and outdated, water was not free, 20 minutes into the return bus ride we had to turn around because they forgot two people.

Good tour but poor communication during organization - We loved our tour guide, Paihsahn, and the tour itself was informative and beautiful. However, we were not pleased with the organization leading up to the tour. There was conflicting information about where to meet (if you are outside of the hotel pickup zone) and they asked us to show up at the meeting spot at 6am and then didn't leave until 7:30am. It was unnecessarily stressful and exhausting. Our hotel was located just outside of their pick-up zone, which we knew when we booked it. However, they didn't mention this when we booked the tour and submitted our details until the day before the tour when we called them for confirmation. They told us over the phone that we would need to meet at the location *before* 6am. Our printout of the booking listed their offices as the meeting point, so that is where we arrived at 5:50am, only to find it deserted. Then we saw that they had e-mailed us a completely different location, so we took a frantic tuk tuk to the other location and arrived at 6:10. This location was also deserted and we thought we had missed the tour and frantically called their number about half a dozen times. We waited around until the tour folks showed up at 7am(!) and then our tour didn't leave until 7:30. We were pretty unhappy with that morning situation and the lack of communication.

Waste of time - Terrible tour guide Donna with poor English and not much knowledge to share Ayutthaya was beautiful, but didn’t learn much about it 1.5 h bus trip to get on the cruise back to Bangkok was totally inefficient (not mentioned in the tour description, had assumed we would leave directly from Ayutthaya), cruise ship was completely run down with mediocre food and no opportunity to sit outside in the shade - total waste of time

Not great - Overpriced and Bland. From the start this was not a good tour - half day summer palace/ayutthaya /grand pearl River cruise. Way too expensive - booked through hotel (10 Galleria) find out half the people on the tour paid way less than the 2700 each we did. Tour guide has no charisma and we could barely make out a thing he was saying. Whole thing was very rushed. Very disappointed with all of it, thought the meal on the boat night maybe make up for it, but half of it was cold, and over cooked. Food was removed before we had finished, had to fight to get desert and coffee. Beware, Drinks come with additional 10% service charge that wasn't expected. Guide continued to babble under his breath on the boat, not one of our group of six could make him out. Then when the cruise ended we were supposed to get a lift back to our hotel but we were left behind and no attempt made to bring us back, had to make our own way. Disappointment from late start to finish.

Waste of time - The ruins of Ayutthaya are interesting but not worth the wasted hours getting there and getting back. Tour leaders english was poor so we learned nothing about the historic sites. Lunch on the boat was ok, nothing special

Grat place you see but with different company - Temples and history are awesome. Buffet on river cruise was passable. Tour guide was worst ever. He barely spoke at any of the locations and would just wander off without saying anything. He needs replaced immediately
