A Culinary Journey Beyond Compare! - Our guide Fon was nothing short of extraordinary. Her deep knowledge of Thai cuisine and Bangkok’s culinary history was evident in every explanation. She's incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to share fascinating tidbits about each dish and answer any questions we had. Her English was impeccable, making it easy to follow along and engage in conversation. Also her friendliness and patience made the whole experience even more enjoyable! Lastly, the food and transport arrangements were seamless, along with her assistant named Champ who ensured we were comfortable and well taken care of.

Old Bangkok awesomeness! - Phun was amazing! Knowledgeable, friendly and full of life. A all round great tour guide 😊 Unfortunately it was Phun’s last day on the job before moving on but she still gave it 100%. A great tour full of interesting dishes and great family run businesses - some three or four generations old, with a tuk tuk ride and local canal boat ride thrown in. Highly recommended.

Life changing experience! (no cap) - Here sharing my experience with Achefstour as it was a life changing experience for me. I had been stressed for quite some time and i used to love to food so much but it kinda just stopped. I decided to go on the tour solo for new vibes and after the tour, im confidentally saying that it has changed me! First of, Annie (Our guide), she was literally the best. Not only super pretty , but also fun ,super kinds and her English was excellent! She smiled the whole time as u can really see that she's happy with what she's doing and she was very friendly and polite to all the local vendors as well. It was raining almost the whole time that day and she gave us ponchos and always made sure we all good and still we enjoyed the tour so much. The guests were very nice also, we talked and exchanging experiences. The tour runs in the old town part of Bangkok and it felt so authenthic as every stops has it owns stories and been there for super long it shows that they are the OG and the taste and quality still as good! I bumped into Annie when i went to china town and she remembered me and she was still friendly and smiling. After the food tour, i started enjoying food more and more like its quite refreshing to always give your life a little taste.

Definitely take this tour if you LOVE Thai food - The Old Siam Bangkok Chef's Food Tour was absolutely fantastic!!!!  A friend recommended this tour and I was beyond impressed!!!I’ve a 20 year background in the hospitality and food industry and this tour, boasting over 15 dishes while walking around the Old Siam area, was definitely one of the best experiences/tours I have ever been on. I think we actually tasted 19 different foods while on the tour Bew our tour guide and her assistant Michael (I think that was his name) was very easy to contact and to assist us in getting to the meeting spot. They were also a fantastic source of local knowledge. One of the places we visited was actually their family business and they really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and hydrated (it was a very warm day) We traveled on boats and buses (and a train to get to the meeting spot) so it was a full on adventure Definitely take this tour if you LOVE Thai food and are in Bangkok and have a bit of time to spare. Well worth every cent we paid for it!! Message from BEW - 1. Sticky Rice w/ taro2. Hoi tod Mussels with Crispy omelet3. Crispy pork belly4. Roast duck5. Kanom buang yuan Mung bean crepe6. Miang Kham One bite 7. Sao num rice noodles with Pineapple and coconut milk8. Green curry9. Massaman curry10. Penang curry11. Kway jab yuan Tapioca noodle soup 12. Lemongrass drink13. Kanom Tuay coconut pudding14. Kanom Sai Sai coconut ball in banana leaf15. Khanom Krok coconut pancakes16. Kanom Chan pandan layers cake 17. Kanom Mo Kaeng custd, shallots 18. Mangosteen 19. The highlight of our trip to Bangkok - Although we'd booked a small group tour, there were only two of us with our guide Fon and her associate Ammi (?). We experienced a canal boat ride, a tuk tuk, and a city bus as we traveled to different food stalls. The food was amazing. Several times we watched our foods being prepared so we know how fresh it was. It was also customized several times for "heat" and food preferences. Fon explained what went into the preparation of each dish, the ingredients, the cooking method, and at times even the history of the dish in Thai culture. This food tour was an excellent way to experience and learn about this important part of Thai life. We'd do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you, both for a great day.

Great food experience - My husband and I took part in the food tour with our guide Bew and her colleague. We simply loved everything we saw and tasted, as well as the in-depth explanations of Thai culture and cuisine. Bew was an enthusiastic, extremely friendly and motivated guide. We look forward to participating in a future tour if possible!

Delicious food, Great knowledge-COME HUNGRY!! - Ant was FABULOUS!! This was our first day in Thailand, and it really opened our eyes to all the different foods and got us ready for the rest of the trip and the things we wanted to eat. We learned we can't eat spicy Thai food. She was so nice and had so much knowledge of the food. We went to places that were generational and delicious. I highly recommend this tour, and if she's your guide, you are winning!! We got to take a boat taxi, a tuk-tuk and a city bus!

Great experience but a bit pricey for what you get - great trip and well thought out, but a little pricey for what was offered tried foods the we wouldn’t have otherwise tried but the mark up on the tour is quite astronomical food was delicious but during the tour was told in passing that the guides get the leftover food that doesn’t get eaten at the end i of the tour ( or when the runner keeps disappearing), so we felt bad eating more of the food and not leaving some for the guides

Unusual and plentiful tastings. - Of the hundreds of food tours on offer in Bangkok I chose this one as it is curated by chefs. Meal preferences - they make it very clear there are no substitutes. I’m pescatarian and missed a few of the tastings as no alternative was offered. I was ok with this as the places we went to were super small and serving sometimes just a single specialist dish. Eg there was only pork belly and grilled duck so I was fine not to partake. But at the last stop where there were tapioca noodles in pork broth and would have expected a replacement as it was in a covered market with lots of other stalls around. Or I could have been offered the tapioca noodles on their own to try. Thats my only negative comment about this tour. Food - A nice blend of dishes - none of which I had heard of or tried before so I really liked that aspect of it. I liked the public transport part as I would never have taken a bus or a canal boat bus so that was a nice tie in. Service - absolutely spot on booking and pre booking information. If you have been to Thailand before and want to try food that you likely won’t have heard of then this tour is for you.
