Highlights
  • Valley of the Kings - In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your central Luxor hotel or harbor by an air-conditioned vehicle for an approximately 8-hour guided tour. Your first stop will be the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-visit for Luxor travelers. Here, you’ll explore four royal tombs, including those of Ramses IV, Ramses III, and Merenptah.
  • Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Entrance fees to the tomb of Tutankhamun (300.00 EGP) are optional.

King Tutankhamun, the most famous pharaoh in history, ascended the throne at around 10 years old and died at 19. You’ll have the chance to see his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings.

  • Tomb of Ramses III - Known as KV 11, the tomb of Ramses III is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. Famous since antiquity, its stunning decorations include colorful painted sunken reliefs with traditional ritual texts and depictions of Ramses before the gods. Unique to this tomb are secular scenes in the small side rooms, showing foreign tributes, royal armory, boats, and blind harpists, earning it the nickname ‘Tomb of the Harpers.’
  • Tomb of Merenptah - In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. Tomb 8 in the Valley of the Kings was the burial place of Pharaoh Merenptah, son of Ramses II and Queen Isis-Nofret. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, the tomb features fewer lateral rooms but taller corridors and chambers. Merenptah’s tomb was built on a single axis with a wider entrance than earlier tombs.
  • Tomb of Ramses IV - The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings stands out for its spectacular hieroglyphics depicting scenes from various ancient texts. The vibrant blue and white walls of the burial chamber feature a rose-colored granite sarcophagus and a beautiful ceiling scene of the goddess Nut.
  • Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After visiting the tombs, you’ll head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, the only woman to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. She was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and belonged to the same dynasty.
  • Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, dating back to the era of King Amenhotep III.
  • Temple of Karnak - At Karnak Temple, you’ll visit one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces. This complex of temples on Luxor’s East Bank includes the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with 134 gigantic columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, the Temple of Amun adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, the Granite Scarab of Amenhotep III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak is considered one of the most beautiful ancient monuments in Egypt.

BOOK THIS TOUR!!! - BEST TOUR EXPERIENCE EVER! Great thanks to our guide - Khalid. Don’t know where to start… but time in Luxor was more than I expected and willing to visit again here. Khalid made our time as special. He is professional and knowledgeable about Egyptian history and passionate/kind to us all the time. If we were without him, we could have just seen and surpassed meaningful sites with no learnings. Plus, he is also very talented for photography - took amazing photos of us and showed great spots for photos. Also important; Unlike other tour guides, he escorted us not to go tourist traps and didn’t take us souvenir shops. Thank you again Khalid and hope to see you again soon.

Khaled, best tour guide you could ever wish for! - My friend and I were guided by Khaled during today's tour. Khaled told us the history of Egypt and the temples and tombs in Luxor, while explaining to us the etymology of the words like Luxor, Egypt, Pyramid and so on to help us better understand. He also taught us many facts about the temples, such as what purpose the obelisks had, what technique the ancient Egyptians used to move such heavy stones and build such large buildings. We also learned how to read some hieroglyphic symbols such as sa (bird) ra (sun) which meant a royal family. Plus, Khaled planned the tour in a way, so that the big tourist groups were arriving when we were leaving. A bigger plus was that he is also an excellent photographer! Another thing we appreciated a lot was that he did not bring us to any vendors or shops that were not in the itinerary. All in all, I feel like I couldn't have asked for any better guide. Thank you for showing us Luxor today and I hope this review helps others to book a tour with you!

Fahtastic tour with great, knowledgeable guide - We had a tour with Abdul, which was truly fantastic. We saw amazing things and learned a lot. Abdul has an engaging way of presenting things that makes you understand what you see and thus become alive. The craftsman shop seemed to put on a show for tourists which we did not enjoy, but that was the only minor wrinkle for us. And of course different people have different tastes. Overall, we can wholeheartedly recommend. p.s.: do the valley of the scribes tour as well!
