Highlights
  • Temple of Karnak - After lunch, continue your day tour to the Karnak Temples on the East Bank of Luxor. Here, you’ll explore one of the world’s most remarkable architectural achievements: the Karnak Temple complex. This site features temples built over various reigns, starting with the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, the Temple of Amun decorated with lotus and papyrus motifs, the Granite Scarab of Amenhotep III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak stands out as one of Egypt’s most stunning ancient monuments.
  • Temple of Hatshepsut - After visiting the tombs, you’ll head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari), the only woman to have ruled Egypt as Pharaoh. She was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and part of the same dynasty.
  • Valley of the Kings - Your first stop will be the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-visit for Luxor travelers. Here, you’ll explore royal tombs, including those of Ramses III, Ramses IV, Merenptah, and, of course, King Tutankhamun. Discovered almost intact in 1922 by Howard Carter, Tutankhamun’s tomb is unique. While his famous golden mask is displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, you can marvel at the royal mummy of the young king here.
  • Colossi of Memnon - Visit the Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, dating back to the reign of King Amenhotep III.

Amazing Luxor - Luxor is beautiful and so rich of culture and history. Ali our guide was very thoughtful, accomodating and is a talented photographer while Abdullah our driver is very friendly and attentive. Temperature is hotter than Cairo so its always better to have an early start. Overall, this tour is very much worth it despite the heat. Swimming pool waiting for you at Isis hotel to cool off.

Positive experience with tour guide Ali in Luxor - The Private Tour in Luxor was just wonderful! The city is very beautiful: calm, well structured, not overcrowded (like Cairo) and it was green! The tour would have been nothing without our phenomenal Tour Guide Ali. He was very kind and understanding, since it can get a bit complicated when traveling as a family, and we really appreciated that. His knowledge about the sites we were visiting was very profound and he always gave us some free time to explore the sites on our own, which was very important for us as well. We wanted to make a break in between our tours and we even got to know him a little bit over a cup of coffee. As a German family, we can warmly recommend Ali for a pleasant and organized day trip in Luxor.
