Highlights
  • Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - King Tutankhamun, the most renowned pharaoh globally, ascended the throne at around 10 years old and passed away at 19. In his tomb in the Valley of the Kings, you can come face to face with his royal mummy.
  • Valley of the Kings - Begin your journey at the Necropolis of Thebes, located on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient site is essential for any Luxor visitor. Here, you’ll explore four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, Merenptah, and King Tut. Discovered nearly intact in 1922 by Howard Carter, King Tut’s tomb is unique in the Valley of the Kings. While his famous golden mask is displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, you can marvel at his royal mummy here. After the tombs, you’ll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari).
  • Tomb of Ramses III - Known as KV 11, the tomb of Ramesses III is a complex structure in the Valley of the Kings, recognized since ancient times. Its stunning decorations include colorful painted sunken reliefs with traditional ritual texts and depictions of Ramses before the gods. Unique secular scenes in the entrance corridor’s side rooms show foreign tributes, detailed pottery from the Aegean, the royal armory, boats, and blind harpists, giving the tomb its alternate name: ‘Tomb of the Harpers.’
  • Tomb of Merenptah - In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, the god of craftsmen and architects. Tomb 8 in the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of Pharaoh Merneptah, exemplifies royal tombs. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, it features fewer lateral rooms and significantly taller corridors and chambers. Merneptah, a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret, constructed the tomb on a single axis, with a notably wider entrance than earlier tombs.
  • Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After the tomb visits, you’ll head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. An ancestor of King Tutankhamun, she belonged to the same dynasty.
  • Colossi of Memnon - Next, you’ll see the Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, dating back to King Amenhotep III’s era. He was the father of King Akhenaten and the grandfather of King Tut. After the tour, you’ll return to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The tour includes a qualified Egyptologist guide, air-conditioned transport, all entrance fees, and hotel pick-up and drop-off.
  • Tomb of Ramases IX - Ramesses IX, the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom, was originally named Amonhirkhopshef. The fifth son of Ramesses III, he became crown prince after his four elder brothers predeceased him. His tomb is richly decorated, with vibrant colors and detailed scenes, including a depiction of the goddess Nut on the ceiling. Despite some deterioration, it remains one of the most ornate tombs in the valley.
  • Tomb of Ramses IV - The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings stands out for its spectacular hieroglyphics depicting scenes from various ancient texts. The vibrant blue and white walls of the burial chamber house a rose-colored granite sarcophagus. A beautiful scene of the goddess Nut swallowing the sun and giving birth to it adorns the ceiling. Despite some damage, the tomb is one of the most decorated in the valley.
  • Valley of the Queens - The Valley of the Queens in Luxor, Egypt, is the burial site for queens, princes, princesses, and high-ranking officials, while pharaohs were interred in the Valley of the Kings. Known anciently as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning “The Place of Beauty” or “the Place of the Royal Children,” the site was explored by Ernesto Schiaparelli and Francesco Ballerini in the early 1900s. The main wadi contains 91 tombs, with an additional 19 in the subsidiary valleys, all dating to the 18th Dynasty.
  • Tomb of Queen Titi - The tomb of Queen Titi, one of the smaller royal tombs in the Valley of the Queens, is shrouded in mystery regarding her true identity.

Ragab as a Tour Guide - A must - We went on this tour with Ragab. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history behind the tour stops, local communities, and was a clear English language speaker. We felt extremely comfortable with him as our guide and enjoyed many laughs. He even made a recommendation at the end of the tour which we were so glad he did.

Great morning on West Bank of Luxor - Abdul was knowledgeable and gave us a great tour of the main attractions on the West Bank in Luxor. The weather was hot, so we started early at 7am, which was a good idea. Abdul was ready for us when we arrived in the lobby. The transportation was comfortable and air conditioned. We only had two days in Luxor and were delighted to see the sights that we wanted to see in an efficient trip.

Abdul and Luxor Travels were great way to see the Westbank! - We spent the day with Abdul Ali touring the westbank Nefertari and King Tutt’s tombs Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple etc. Abdul is extremely knowledgeable and educated us on so many things (and pronunciations). Abdul has been doing this a long time and clearly loves what he does! He took great care of us and the driver too! If you find yourself in Luxor you should plan a tour with Luxor Travels and request Abdul! Thank you Abdul for a once in a lifetime experience!!

Very mind blowing day - We had a very knowledgeable and enjoyable experience.Abdul’s knowledge during our tour was very impressive. Also he explained to us what was a good price to pay, when we got approached by person asking us to buy souvenirs and that we are under no obligation to buy . The tour was well planned out and ran smooth and it was delivered with passion and enthusiasm. Only con I have about the tour was, that we thought the tour guide would have been with us while we viewed attractions and explained whilst we walked around. But otherwise it was a lovely tour. We would recommend!! The Bakers
