- Mount Nebo - Choose a departure from either the Dead Sea or Amman when booking. Enjoy a scenic drive through Jordan’s countryside in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Your driver will highlight points of interest along the way but will not serve as a guide at the sites. Upon arrival at the sacred hill of Mount Nebo, where tradition says the prophet Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death, you can explore on your own or hire a local guide (at your own expense). Take in the breathtaking views over the Jordan Valley, which can extend to Jericho and Jerusalem on clear days. Visit the spot where Moses is believed to have died and see the modern sculpture of his staff at the summit. Enter the Memorial Church of Moses to see ancient relics excavated in the 20th century and admire the well-preserved 6th-century floor mosaics depicting animal, pastoral, and hunting scenes.
- Madaba - Next, meet up with your driver and head to Madaba, known as the ‘City of Mosaics.’ Upon arrival, visit St. George’s Church, a 19th-century basilica that houses the Madaba Map, a 6th-century floor mosaic illustrating the ancient Holy Land and Jordan. You can choose to explore the church on your own or hire a local guide (at your own expense). Walk around the map in the apse and marvel at the detailed mosaic, noting the intricate depictions of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Jericho, and other biblically significant sites.
