- Plaza de la Villa - Your tapas adventure begins in Plaza de la Villa, the old main square in central Madrid. You will get a brief introduction to the city and its tapas credential.
- Mercado San Miguel - We will head towards Mercado de San Miguel, the first gourmet market in all of Spain, for the first of many food tastings. Here we’ll start with an aperitivo, what else?! We’ll try traditional vermouth or Spanish wine, and we’ll taste some delicious Spanish cheese at one of the best cheese stalls in the market.
- La Latina - Next, we’ll head to the pulsating barrio of La Latina to explore its narrow lanes and fascinating history. This neighbourhood is ultra trendy right now and is popular with locals for its vibrant food and drink scene. We will visit a tiny, off the beaten path restaurant that is well known for their traditional tapas dishes - with a fusion twist. This tiny spot only has 6 tables so it’s always busy and it has a great atmosphere!
- Plaza Mayor - Our next stop is Plaza Mayor where we’ll chat about the city’s history and food culture. We will try the iconic bocadillo de calamares, the famous sandwich of the city. To wash it down, we’ll try some local beer too! We’ll also try some of Madrid’s most famous croquettes at a heritage tavern that was originally built in 1860 and only specializes in these special potato treats.
- Puerta del Sol - After that we will walk towards Puerta del Sol, one of the most iconic spots of Madrid and finish our tapas adventure with a local dessert.
Once you’ve finished your dessert, your guide will take you back to Puerta del Sol, where they can help you out with directions back to your accommodation or ideas on where to go next!

A must do foodie tour of Madrid. - Great tour. Got to try some local food that was fantastic. From mushrooms to tortilla, ham, prawns all done the local way. Also some refreshing drinks along the way. Aafke was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge of both the history and food in Madrid.

Best tapas tour! - Our family had a great time with our tour guide, Mart! The company was great as well as the food & drinks. It was truly an exeperience as we got to immerse ourselves in the cuisine of Spain. :)

Excellent Introduction to Madrid - We did this tour on our first night in Madrid, and our tour guide, Aafke, was exceptional! She had a passion for the local culture and made many great suggestions for things we could do in Madrid during our stay. The tapas and drinks were excellent. This was the perfect way to explore downtown Madrid!

Fun intro to Madrid! - Wonderful and fun! Aafke was an excellent guide for this leisurely walking tour of Madrid. We stopped at five places for tapas and aperitifs, as well as many squares and other interesting sites. Food was great, as was the company. Would highly recommend!

A great night out with Aafke - My guide for the evening was Aafke, she was entertaining, informative & the food was delicious ~ Aafke you are just brilliant!!
We had the best night roaming the streets of Madrid & sampling many delicious tapas all catered to my tastes. We visited many cool unique places, discussed history, architecture, all the culinary delights & so much more.
Post tour, I was emailed a recap on all the places visited, PLUS a few more hotspots to check out in my free time.
As a solo traveler this was the perfect taste of Madrid I was looking for, so I can highly recommend booking this tour ~ Seriously what are you waiting for, book now!!

Great Tapas and Walking Tour - We look for an Urban Adventures Tour when we travel because it's always a great experience. Our Madrid Tapas Tour was no exception. Our guide, Patricia, was interesting, informative, and entertaining. She took us to several unique places where we had a variety of excellent Spanish food and drink. In between stops, Patricia provided us with great information about the area and the city. I highly recommend this tour.

Incredible evening! - Our tapas tour with Patricia was one of our very top experiences during our three weeks in Spain. She chose delicious tapas, was fun & engaging, and knew random things about the city as we walked from place to place. Seriously, if you're thinking about doing this, you won't regret it. Patricia was absolutely amazing!

Spectacular tastes of Madrid - Patricia Willems is the guide to get! We walked about town stopping to eat and drink local specialties at her favorite spots. Great info, delicious tapas, many new tastes and flavors to try. We were not rushed, took our time and enjoyed a spectacular evening with our terrific guide. Highly recommend and a great value.
