Highlights
  • Madrid - This incredible experience starts in the most comfortable way, aboard the fastest train in Spain (reaches a top speed of 300 km/h), highlighting its punctuality, avoiding up to 2 hours of delays and traffic jams of big cities and getting to Toledo in just 30 minutes.

Get impressed by the countryside you often wouldn’t see if you were driving the highway or flying thousands of miles in the air. In ecological terms, train travel remains overall the most environmentally friendly mode of traveling.

  • Acueduct of Segovia - After a scenic ride, start the adventure discovering the famous Aqueduct of Segovia, a Roman engineering marvel dating back to the 1st century AD. Behold the well-preserved aqueduct stretches through the heart of the city and is an incredible sight.

  • Segovia - Continue with a soft hiking through La Senda de los Molinos, a magnificent walk that unify landscapes, nature, geology and industrial history of the city of Segovia.

The path runs between the neighborhoods of San Lorenzo and San Marcos, with a nice walk along the riverbank that brings us closer to its industrial past. This part of the city is somewhat unknown, but has a natural and historical beauty of great value. Enjoy the coolness under the trees while contemplating the beauty of its autochthonous nature and lush vegetation until arriving at the viewpoint of San Marcos, a privileged place to contemplate the Segovian Alcazar from a unique perspective.

  • Alcazar of Segovia - After hiking, you’ll visit the Alcázar, perched on a hill overlooking the city, its majestic castle that was once home to the kings of Castile. This fortress has a unique appearance with its turreted towers and is said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle. Explore the interior, including the various rooms, halls, and courtyards. Don’t miss the Tower of Juan II, which offers panoramic views of Segovia.

  • Cathedral of Segovia - Continue through the charming streets of Segovia’s Old Town. Admire the medieval buildings, quaint squares, and picturesque alleys. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Gothic Cathedral. Don’t miss the Plaza Mayor, the main square, where you can relax at a café and soak in the atmosphere.

Segovia is beautiful! Tour guide was great! - Our tour guide was awesome! She was very formative and ensured we all stayed together despite the very heavy crowds at the train stations. The Alcazar was the highlight of the experience! Such a great tour. We actually noticed some people trying to eavesdrop because of her great details. The hike was a bit much for our young children. We would have preferred to have spent the time wandering Segovia. We only had about 20 min to try to find souvenirs and spent the rest of free time (30) trying to get food as our kids were starving after the hike. Segovia is beautiful. You could spend a whole day exploring.

Great day via high speed train to Segovia - This was a great trip from Madrid to Segovia. We did have our start time changed by a few hours just the day before though luckily it still worked for our agenda. We did try contacting the tour operator, several times to get more info about the time change, though did not receive a call back. Other than the logistical issues, the tour itself was well worth the time. The meeting point was near the train station and the tour was limited to a small group of 6. Our guide, Laura) was fabulous. She was friendly, knowledgable, and entertaining. The tour gave us a good mix of time with the guide and time to ourselves to explore at our own pace. There was a lot of walking including a good deal of steps. Segovia itself including the aqueduct and the castle are well worth your time. While on vacation. I’m glad I was able to squeeze the tour in while in Madrid. I would definitely recommend this tour via the high speed train from Madrid as it gives you more time in Segovia than you would get from a bus tour

Great day in Segovia - Laura was a wonderful guide. So organized and very knowledgeable about Segovia. We loved every aspect of this day… the hike around the river, the castle tour and the historical information about the city. Laura gave us great referrals for restaurants which proved to be very good.

Absolutely Fantastic Experience - This tour was absolutely fantastic made even better by Laura whose energy and knowledge she shared with us as our guide. Segovia is a very photogenic gem that everyone visiting Spain should see. Our only suggestions would be to have a car ready at the train station to immediately pick up the tourists. The wait for taxis took away a bit of time from us to see more of the cute town. With that and another hour built in for us to explore further would be worth the cost even if the price were raised a bit.

Interesting tour of a striking city - Very good tour. The ride from Madrid was scenic and interesting. The aqueduct in Segovia was astounding. I wish we spent more time there. The hike down to the river was very pleasant, although we got a bit winded hiking back up. The Alcazar was extremely impressive and well-described by our knowledgeable guide. Lunch was good, but I wish we spent a bit less time at lunch so we could visit the cathedral and return to the aqueduct. Very good overall.

We caught this tour operator lying to save money - My wife and I vacationed to Spain with our two kids and booked this tour with World Experience for May 29, 2024. On May 23 employee or owner Jorge texted us that their tour guide had a medical emergency and could not perform our tour on May 29. He asked if we could change our tour date to May 28. We could not, but Jorge agreed to change our tour date to May 30. To be completely transparent, considering that we were notified of the "medical emergency" five days before the tour date, which seemed like plenty of advance time to find another tour guide, we did suspect that World Experience was possibly attempting to consolidate their customers into a single tour date to save money. However, Jorge said May 30 would also work, so it was just a suspicion at the time and nothing else. Here is the text transcript word-for-word between Jorge and me after he informed us on May 23 that May 29 would not work: Me: Hi Jorge, we would have to change other plans that we have already made for 5/28. Is 5/28 our only option? Is 5/30 also a possible option? Thanks. Jorge from W.E: Hello! Yes, 5/30 would also be an option. Me: OK that day works better for us than the 28th. Jorge from W.E: OK so I confirm you for the 30th. Me: Thank you! Then, on the evening of May 29, which was the evening before our new tour date, just to be diligent I texted Jorge again to confirm that we were on for the following morning. Here is my exact text message: Me: Good evening, Jorge. Tomorrow is still a go, correct? Jorge did not reply. Because he did not reply, I called Trip Advisor/Viator customer service. Per Viator customer service, our tour had been cancelled and not re-scheduled. They could not provide an explanation, but said they would message World Experience with our complaint. Then, at 9:30am the following morning, Jorge texted me the following message: Jorge from W.E: Hello! Yes the meeting with the guide is at 9:45am right in front of Barcelo Imagin Hotel. Upon receipt of Jorge’s text, my family and I immediately caught a cab and headed to the Barcelo Imagin Hotel. It was 9:30am and he wanted us there by 9:45am. The hotel where we were staying was only 10 minutes away from the Barcelo Imagin Hotel, and when I received Jorge’s text message we were already outside about to grab a coffee. In the cab, on the way to the Barcelo Imagin Hotel, I had the following text conversation, word-for-word, with Jorge: Me: What?!?! I called Viator last night and they told me the trip was cancelled. We are in transit now. Jorge from W.E: Excuse me Andrew. You’re right your booking looks canceled. Give me 1 min to confirm. Me: We will talk when we get there. So you know, I am not happy. Jorge from W.E: Okay but I won’t be there. I’m at the office. Me: Can you be there? You have screwed up and we need to talk. Jorge from W.E: Sorry but unfortunately I’m at my work spot and it is not close to the meeting point. Let me look for what happened with your booking and I apologize for any inconvenience. Me: We still want the tour. We can make it on time. Start by making sure we are on the tour today. Jorge from W.E: So sorry Andrew but I confirm you’re not for today and unfortunately there is no train availability for today. Your reservation appears canceled on Viator and has automatically disappeared from our system. Me: That is because you cancelled it. We are in a taxi on our way. You should have someone drive us there. (To Segovia.) We can return on a train on our own. Jorge from W.E: Unfortunately, your reservation has already been canceled and refunded. In our system, it appears as directly canceled by Viator, not by me, so I need to see how this could have happened. In any case, we apologize for the inconvenience. (This of course was AFTER Jorge previously texted me that the reservation had automatically disappeared from their system. So how would he know that it was cancelled by Viator without having called them yet?) Me: OK, talk to them and let me know. Call me at USA number ----------- when you have an answer. I talked to them last night and they could not explain why the tour was cancelled. We are now next to the Barcelo Imagin Hotel getting a coffee. Then, just after I hit Send, I thought to enter the actual hotel and ask the tour operator who supposedly was waiting with World Experience’s other customers if he/she knew anything about the mess up. BUT THERE WAS NO ONE THERE. THERE WAS NO TOUR OPERATOR AND NO OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITING TO GO ON A TOUR ANYWHERE. So I sent Jorge the following text message: Me: Jorge there is no one here at the hotel waiting for a tour to Segovia. How do you explain that? Radio silence. I received no reply from Jorge at World Experience, and still have not received a reply. Nor has he called me like I asked him to do. They literally cancelled our tour, a tour with my wife and kids, 5000 miles away from where we live, in a country we traveled to at great expense to take a vacation, then figured they could blame it on Viator by texting me back with just 15 minutes to get to the meeting point, expecting that we would not arrive there on time, or not even try, presumably (personally I am positive) because they did not have enough customers booked on May 30 to make it worthwhile for them. Jorge and World Experience are flat out liars and scammers. They do not care for their customers. They only care for themselves. They are the saddest version of Spanish people that I have ever come across, as the Spanish are normally kind and generous people, with good morals, too. I would give World Experience zero stars if I could, but it’s not possible, as Viator only allows a lowest score of one star. Either way, businesses like this do not last. Normally they go under because customers call them out as liars. Do not book this tour! DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH WORLD EXPERIENCE. They will damage your vacation, and time is precious. Book with an operator that has more reviews. I will be following up with Viator in the next day or so about this. They should penalize this tour operator.
