Highlights
  • Muralla de Toledo - Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains.

King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city.

Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.

  • Zocodover - The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II
  • Alcazar de Toledo - The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I and his son Felipe II of Spain in the 1540s.
  • Catedral Primada - The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church in Toledo, Spain. It is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo
  • Synagogue of Saint Mary the White - The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca is a museum and former synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Erected in 1180, according to an inscription on a beam, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing. It is now owned and preserved by the Catholic Church
  • Iglesia de Santo Tome - The Iglesia de Santo Tomé is a church located in the historical center of the city of Toledo, and was founded after the reconquest of this city by King Alfonso VI of León. It appears quoted in the 12th century, as constructed on the site of an old mosque of the 11th century

The tour was well... - The tour was well organized. We were glad we chose this tour, instead of exploring Toledo on our own which would have been confusing given its hills and winding medieval streets. Our guide was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Kindness - Our guide was great. She was very knowledgeable and extremely considerate. One of our party had an injury that required him using a cane. Our guide as well as others made sure he enjoyed all of the tour. The kindness exhibited by others on the tour as well as our guide made it more special.

Pleasant experience in Toledo - It was a pleasant experience with Arantxa as our guide. It would be good to include crossing the 2 beautiful bridges and photo opportunity at the gate near st Martin bridge in the itinerary.

Beautiful experience - Toledo is a beautiful and interesting city to visit, the tour starts from Madrid with a luxury coach and a guide who explains in English and Spanish. After an hour's journey you reach a panoramic point from which to take photos of Toledo. The tour then continues with a walk in the center and visit the main attractions of the city.

Well worth it - Well-organized and punctual. Oscar gave a lot of historical details as we walked. Just enough time to cover main sights and a little free time. Good value!
