Highlights
  • The departure point for our trip is the Great Salt Lake State Park Marina.
  • Our exploration of the lake will be on a motorized pontoon boat. This will allow us to appreciate the remarkable views of the lake and the coast as we listen to fascinating narratives, historic accounts, and even a few humorous anecdotes about this distinctive locale. Given the vast size of the lake, our trip will remain within a one-mile radius of the marina since the islands are too distant, and the views do not variate as you move further out on the lake. The boat will maintain a leisurely pace to facilitate ongoing commentary from our captain. If you’re interested in a high-speed boat trip encompassing the entirety of the lake, our tour may not meet your expectation as it is only 45 minutes long.
  • Experience vistas of the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding mountains from the lake.
What's Included
  • Lake history and stories
  • Bottled water
  • Big smiles and a laugh
What's Not Included
  • Guide Gratuity
  • Utah State Park Fee ($5 per car)
  • Refund or reschedule if you are late
Additional Information

Exclusive Excursions is thrilled to operate on The Great Salt Lake, acclaimed as the saltiest water body in the Western Hemisphere. Capitalize on this opportunity by not just viewing the lake from the bank, but immersing yourself on it. Our journey includes a brief boat tour around the marina, indulging in fascinating tales, history and humor associated to the lake, along with several demonstrations. Naturally, there will be sufficient opportunities to capture memorable photos.

Since the tour span is short, only 45 minutes, and considering the expansive nature of the lake, our voyage is limited to roughly a mile around the marina. Please note that this tour does not entail high-speed boating as the skipper prefers narrating interesting facts throughout the journey. We duly acknowledge feedback regarding slow speed and limited travel distance on the lake - this is our justification.

It’s true that the vicinity of the marina at The Great Salt Lake is a habitat to bugs. They are harmless and don’t bite but can form swarms occasionally. We provide netted hats to protect your face from these insects, so please ensure to pick one to avoid any discomfort. For real time updates on the bug situation which varies, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Great short and informative tour of a Great (Salty!) Lake - We had a couple hours to spend before heading to the airport, and this was a perfect way to enjoy a short tour of the Great Salt Lake, and learn about the history and amazing natural resources the lake provides. Captain Tyler was a great boat captain and a proud Salt Lake City native who shared lots of interesting information with our tour group.

Great Tour with Captain Dunc - We had a very nice tour with Dunc going to the middle of the Great Salt Lake. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He explained the healing powers of floating in the salt water. As several have said the Brine Flies are bad, but they don't bite. Even on a hot afternoon, we'd recommend a tour. 2 Gigis from Texas

Unique experience, you've got to try it! - The weather was perfect in the low 90's. We went with 6 others and Capt Tyler took us out to the middle of Salt lake. Some of us got out and floated in the 2nd saltiest body of water in the world. I was able to get my hubby to go when we went in the shallow part. This IS the saltiest water we've ever been in and we're from Quincy, MA, we know salty water. Tyler and his protege were very knowledgeable about Salt Lake, how it became Salt Lake, the area around Salt Lake. They provided water and a snack if you were thirsty or hungry. I highly recommend this trip!
