Wonderful day out, lovely setting and fantastic staff - Went for a day out with friends and had such a lovely day. Aside from the staff in the shop who were a little less friendly than everyone else, every single person we interacted with was absolutely outstanding, so friendly and helpful they made our day. It was a trip for a friend’s special birthday so thank you to everyone from the ferrymen, the restaurant staff, the team looking after the birds of prey. An absolute credit to the castle which was interesting and in such a beautiful setting. Tickets let you go back within the year so good value. Restaurant food was delicious, such lovely ladies who looked after us beautifully and made it a day to remember.

Good but very expensive - Justifiably called ‘the prettiest castle in England’, Leeds Castle is certainly worth a visit. The interiors were converted in the 1920s to those a country house so the castle vibe is lost but they do beautifully evoke the charm of that age but it is hugely expensive to visit. Cheaper to book online but still overpriced and the inclusion of further free visits during the year is of no benefit at all to visitors from abroad. They even ensure tickets can’t be handed on by taking your photo - that’s really small minded. As for the gift shop, well, a £60 cushion cover! Restaurant was good even though our waitress was a charm school dropout. A lovely day but a slight feeling of being fleeced.

Lovely visit - Went for the Narnia experience in December. My kid loved the experience so much he kept going round the castle to see the characters again. Downside was the wait for the land train and it was an additional cost to the tickets. It took ages to collect us from the entrance. Good fun when on it though. We will return when the weather is better as our kid wanted to play in the gardens and play area but it’s was pouring down. Would recommend.

Eleonor of Castille please. Not Lady what’s her name - Stunning medieval castle. Connections with 6 English queens. Exterior is glorious. Feminine. Surrounded by a small lake On entry such a difference. Formulaic “ make-over” by rich vapid Anglo-American heiress. Hence maybe a con if you are expecting royal connections. Well for some reason they were playing the Abduction Speech. ?? It seems the castle still controlled by Lady whatshername trust. For it’s really about her. And her. And oh her. Seems she didn’t want National Trust getting? ? Maybe they would’ve focused on the actual history of the graceful castle. The Eleonors. Katherine’s And Joanna’s who were actually part of English history. And the wife’s and mothers of kings Lady what’s her name was neither. Tasteless interior with dreadful wallpaper.

One very expensive day! - Such an expensive day out! For such a small castle. Then paying £20 for 2 lots of 4 chicken goujons and a few chips and a drink was ridiculous. The castle itself could be opened more, after all its a 20 beded one. Maybe opening under the castle could possibly be another idea. The castle itself was very well kept and I loved the audio, especially where you didn't have to press any more buttons on it when walking around, as it was automatic. There just needs to be more available for the older child, teenage age. Maybe guided tours, where you actually get to listen to someone in depth talking about the castle.

Extortionate prices for a rubbish experience! - Booked tickets online but somewhat was confusing as you either have to be a single parent with 3 kids or be 2 adults and 3 kids. No options for 2 adults and 2 kids so I booked a 1 adult and 3 kids ticket thinking the staff would be helpful on arrival & would either accept my booking or at least give me the option to pay the difference for an adult ticket. However, the staff member was unwilling to accept the ticket wording on the website & requested I paid for another adult ticket of £31.50. I had already paid £74 for a family ticket! At check in, I kept being told that it’s (Up To 3 kids) or (up to 2 kids) what absolute rubbish and doesn’t make any logical sense. Very abrunt and rude staff and kept referring to it says it online. NO IT DOES NOT. Even after showing the staff members their own website & their ticket options, they still didn’t acknowledge the wording. In total I paid £105.50 for 2 adults & 2 kids. That’s 1 heck of an expensive day out without having to pay extra for the train, golf & boat. Although, the ticket allows you entry for 12 months, after today’s experience we really won’t be visiting again and i genuinely think it’s not worth the money at all! We have visited many castles and this one is no where as near as appealing or interesting. The important thing is my children had a nice time but as a parent I’ve been to many better castles/attractions for better value for money. The bird show was not impressive at all and the children got bored of the gentleman just talking and talking like a meet and greet experience rather than “spectacular show“. Toilets in filthy condition and should be checked more regularly. The beautiful landscaping and water features along with the beautiful ducks were the highlight. Had high expectations of visiting but such a negative experience along with such extortionate prices
