You cannot beat this experience! - This was our first experience in Malibu with LifeRush Adventures. It moved us emotionally and mentally, and we certainly enjoyed the comfort of nature views, rock formations, clouds, sun, mountains, and even the little bunny rabbits crossing our path. Jason was fantastic! His attention to detail, the desire to look out for our safety, and the technical exploration of the terrain brought us an escape like no other. In our 50s, it didn't matter; the electric bikes and Jason's coaching helped us navigate the elevations and every part of the path. We highly recommend Jason and the LifeRush Adventures team to support you and the "Life worth living experiences." Much love, Jason; we are in your debt, my friend. The Neal's.

New adventure - lots of fun - We did the Malibu Overlook backbone trail. It was our first time on electric bikes and my wife's first time mountain biking. There was a bit of a learning curve with the functionality of the bikes, but we got through that quickly. Jason took great care to make my wife comfortable with the trail, as it was more challenging than what she was accustomed to. The power and agility of the bikes made the steep climbs fun and easy for both of us Additionally, she could descend at her own speed while Jason and I could zoom down the "no break" zones. Near the end, we put the bikes down while Jason and I did a great rock scramble. We had a lot of fun and got to ride some bikes that we would never buy for ourselves.

Ride to Remember.....in the best way! - Jason lived up to all the wonderful comments I had read before booking. He is extremely client focused.......down to having sunglasses for each rider. He was so patient and encouraging throughout the ride and took us thru amazing terrain. The views were unforgettable! Fun, fun day!

He took his time and made sure that we were safe, and had a lot of fun along the way. We had amazing views, and and he caught some very nice pictures for us along the way. Definitely recommend his tour and would love to do it again when we are in the area!

Challenging and Fun Family Adventure - Overall, we had a great time and loved this experience! No regrets. Jason was prompt, and well prepared with excellent equipment and biking accessories. He was very organized, knowledgable, and gave great tips along the way so that everyone could be successful. The description of the trip on the website isn’t entirely accurate, and granted, the weather definitely changes the conditions (two days of rain prior made for big ruts and muddy conditions). It was not a smooth-flowing trail that was easily navigated by riders with no experience, as advertised. We were thankful that we have experience with road (peddle) bikes, dirt bikes, and motorcycles, otherwise, this would not have been enjoyable. Even with our peddle bike and motorbike experience, this was a challenge and intimidating at times. It was also super fun and thrilling. To make this experience even better, 15 min or so of prep time before hitting the trail would have been ideal. This would have given Jason time to explain what to expect of the terrain and conditions before we left. Also, time to acclimate to the bike on the pavement before the trail would have been very helpful. Riders need a few minutes to test out the buttons and gears and get the feel of the bike. We have biking experience, but electric mountain bikes were new to us. The instructional time before hitting the trail was way too quick. More of a soft start probably would have allowed Jason to be more patient with us in the beginning. He seemed very pressed for time and irritated by more conservative riders. By 3/4 of the way through he seemed more patient and tolerant of the variety of rider abilities in our group. He seems to prefer more mid-advanced riders. Our group of 6 consisted of ages 16-52 years old; 2 females, 4 males. Perhaps taking inventory of rider’s experience beforehand would help him know his group better so that he could adjust his expectations and teaching accordingly. Before you go, ask about the terrain conditions and what to wear. Dark clothes/old shoes or biking gear recommended. We do feel like we could go back today and do it even better now that we’ve done it once and know what to expect. The views were amazing and it was worth it! A challenging adventure even for typical adventurous and athletic families. I would recommend this to friends/family that could handle it.

No patience …. Not for first time e bikers or mountain bikers - While we had fun and the assistant tour guides Ben and Diego were patient and helpful, the main guide Jason had no empathy or patience for the few inexperienced riders in our group. He was condescending, rude and a downright jerk to people despite telling all that we could ride at our pace and just have fun. Jason rode ahead of everyone with his dog and yelled back instructions that maybe the one person behind him could hear. He berated people before the tour even began for looking away for even a second. He almost kicked someone out when first starting the ride (despite starting on a hill)… two people crashed (one into the bushes off the edge of the mountain and one trying to help her), and just stood on his bike 100 yards ahead and yelled for people to hurry up… he never moved to check on anyone … luckily his assistant Diego helped all and was very empathetic despite Jason’s yelling. Diego was great, as was Ben who aided another slower rider. While we did have some fun (thus the second star), Jason did not let us bring cameras, took no scenic shots (most pics of his dog on a rock, who looked miserable and not happy to be there). If you are comfortable with e mountain bikes and need no instruction or help, it could be fun for you … or just wait until Diego and Ben eventually get sick of Jason. Jason, if you are reading this, show some empathy, care about the safety and health of your riders, advise of a skill level required and don’t accept first timers, or just stay out of it and let your assistants go on the rides.
