Additional Information

Stortorget, the largest plaza in Malmo, translates to ‘Big Square’. It is succeeded by Lilletorget, also known as ‘Little Square’, that hosts some of the city’s favourite eateries. The square imparts a touch of Paris to Malmo with its numerous outside dining areas where one could enjoy people watching. Furthermore, historical structures and an old-fashioned phone booth add charm to Lilletorget.

Malmohuset is among the oldest edifices in Malmo, with its current structure dating back to the 1530s. It once served as the residence of James Hepburn, the third spouse of Mary, Queen of Scots, when he was incarcerated there during 1568 to 1573.
Standing tall at 190 meters or around 623 feet, The Turning Torso is Scandinavia’s highest building. The work of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it was officially inaugurated on August 27, 2005.
