Highlights
  • Manavi - Our route heads eastward to a region rich in offerings. After an hour’s drive through Kakhetian villages, vineyards, valleys, and mountains, we arrive at our first stop, Manavi Fortress. This fortress overlooks vineyards and provides stunning views of the fertile valleys, making it an ideal spot to learn about the history of Georgian viticulture.
  • VELLINO Wine Cellar - Following the fortress visit, we head to a family wine cellar for a wine experience. Here, local winemakers will share the secrets of Georgian wine culture. You’ll have the opportunity to sample various local wines and snacks.
  • Badiauri - As you approach Kakheti, the aroma of freshly baked traditional Shoti bread will greet you. You’ll be tempted to try it immediately, paired with the region’s amazing cheese. Once you taste it, you’ll find it hard to want anything else.
  • Sighnaghi - Our journey continues to the fortified town of Sighnaghi, also known as “the city of love.” With its 18th- and 19th-century architecture and a vaguely Tuscan feel, it is the prettiest town in the Kakheti region. The town’s ornate balconies, charming cobblestone streets, restored Art Nouveau woodwork, and detailed facades give it a romantic allure. Climbing the city walls for panoramic views of the Alazani Valley is a highlight of any visit.
  • Nukriani - After exploring the “city of love,” it’s time for a culinary experience. You’ll visit a local family for a home-cooked lunch and homemade wine. The house is perfectly located, offering fabulous views. You’ll enjoy a traditional Kakhetian lunch served by a winemaking family.
  • Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino - An afternoon visit to the Bodbe Convent will complete the day. This convent is one of the most important religious sites and attractions in Georgia.

Excellent, delicious tour of the Kakheti region - Giga’s tour was excellent - would gladly recommend it to family, friends, and internet strangers reading this who are visiting Georgia. He was a knowledgeable, engaged, and very friendly guide. We got to cover many areas of the Kakheti region, including a wine tasting from his own small batch wine produced in the traditional Georgian qveri. We’re well-traveled wine tasters, and these wines were both unique and delicious. The lunch was great as well. We had a great time, thank you Giga!

A memorable experience - We were a bunch of friends visiting Georgia for the first time. We contacted 11 regions based on reviews in the trip advisor for arranging tours for 4 days. We are glad that we used 11 regions for our tours. Giga was very responsive via WhatsApp and planned a perfect itinerary for us. The highlight was the wine tour and the wine tasting at Giga's cellar. All aspects of the tour were as planned and we had a wonderful time. The guide Alex who accompanied us was awesome. Thanks, Giga and Alex, for a memorable trip to Georgia!!!

Contrasting Wineries, Delicious Food - This Kakheti wine tour was a delicious and informative day trip! It was interesting to see the contrast between commercial wineries where they use the European method of winemaking, and a small family-run one like Giga's, where the traditional Georgian winemaking method produces amazing wines, especially the Saperavi. We even stopped at a great local badiauri along the way to sample delicious a Georgian cheese and fresh-baked bread – a delightful treat! Sighnaghi's charming atmosphere and incredible family-cooked lunch were a highlight, though be prepared for generous portions! Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino offered beautiful scenery and a glimpse into Georgian religious traditions. My tour guide, Alex, made the entire trip enjoyable and informative with his friendly personality and knowledge of the region - highly recommend!

Highlight of my Geogia Trip - Kakheti! - I had the most incredible experience exploring Georgia with Giga. From the moment we met, his warmth and enthusiasm for sharing his homeland's treasures were noticeable. Giga's extensive knowledge of Georgia's history, culture, and landmarks added depth to every stop along our journey. He effortlessly tailored the itinerary to suit our interests, ensuring each moment was filled with discovery and delight. Beyond his expertise, Giga's genuine kindness and attentiveness made the trip feel like an adventure with a dear friend. If you're considering a trip to Georgia, I wholeheartedly recommend Giga as your guide. And while you're there, don't miss the chance to support his small winery business called Chateau Tsarapi. Visiting Chateau Tsarapi is not only a fantastic way to taste some of Georgia's finest wines but also to support a local entrepreneur who is passionate about sharing his heritage with the world.

An outstanding day, from beginning to end. - Our day with Giga was—in a word—outstanding! Each of the wineries we visited (including his own small winemaking operation) provided insightful lessons on Georgian wine and its long history. Book this trip! You will be glad you did.

An outstanding day - We had a fantastic day in Kakheti with our guide Giorgi. We were picked up on time at our hotel in a modern and comfortable vehicle. Then Giorgi drove us to Kakheti. It was very interesting to learn first hand about the old winemaking traditions in Georgia. The first wineyard has a more contemporary look, while the second was more traditional. We were provided with great wine and food both places. The best part about our day was definitely our guide. Giorgi is a funny, sincere, flexible and helpful man that will give you a unique insight over how the local Kakhetians live. His driving is also outstanding and we felt very safe the whole trip. We definitely recommend this tour!
