Additional Information

Having moved from the UK over a decade ago, we understand your expectations. Our priority is always your satisfaction, followed closely by the premium quality of our tour destinations. We don’t compromise with places that merely ‘accept’ tourists, they need to excel in Service and Quality or we discard them.

This tour is immensely popular among energetic cruise ship passengers and regular tourists. We dedicate a day to exploring local culture, nature, cuisine and beverages. The rainforest part involves an easy, light walk for an hour, followed by a more daring hike for the next hour, if you’re up for it. If not, we can simply return to the bus and reunite with the rest of the group at the final destination.

We saw whales too - We saw many whales from the lookout at San Lorenzo. Quite the highlight. Chris was an excellent guide. The lunch at the restaurant on the beach was amazing also with Chris translating for us. Overall an amazing tour.

Fantastic Manta Experience - Fantastic tour with Chris! (Btw he spoke perfect English) We were able to traverse the rainforest, see whales off San Lorenzo, eat local food on the beach, watched Panamá hats and chocolate being made. It’s a must do tour to embrace all Manta has to offer. Great tour with a small group (approx 10 ppl) that was well organized, informative and super friendly guide. No need to worry about getting back to your cruise ship on time …they got you. Thanks Chris and Manta Tours!

Nice time in Manta Ecuador - I took a tour to go to Pacho and it was very fun and interesting, my favorite part was seeing the monkeys, the little chocolate factory, and the food. I really enjoyed it, thank you

A Great Team to Work With! - This was the best tour booking experiences I have ever had for a tour we were ultimately unable to take. I had worked with Tom at Manta Tour Guides for over a year to set up several tour groups in Manta for friends and I as we cruise South America. He was always responsive to every question I had, marvelous to work with and ready to work with us based on our time requirements. Unfortunately uur port stop in Manta was cancelled unexpectedly and Tom worked with us again on refunds. I would not hesitate to recommend Tom and his team!

Caring and Compassionate Tour Company - I was scheduled to take an all-day tour with Manta Tour Guides as part of a private 8-person group, but the day before the tour, my husband and I both became very sick. The clear, written policy of Manta Tour Guides requires at least 48 hours notice to receive a 50% refund of the prepaid tour. I emailed Tom Davison, the founder and owner of the company, and explained our situation. I was able to find a person to take 1 of our 2 slots. With compassion and caring, Tom made an exception to his policy and refunded 100% of our tour cost. I was taken completely by surprise with his generosity. BTW - my friends that went on the tour said it was fabulous!

Exciting experience - Seeing the country, the chocolate factory and walking through the rainforest . Didn’t see any animals as we turned and went back as there was a lady with a walking stick and couldn’t continue. Spoiled it for everyone else

Variety and interesting - Juan was an excellent guide. He tried hard to show us his culture and the Ecuador way of life. The visit to the nature preserve was a bit of a wash out as there were some works in progress that scared the howler monkeys away. The hat makers were very interesting. The chocolate makers were very interesting as well as we saw the whole process of chocolate making from pod to slab of chocolate.

Rainforest and Montechristi - The rainforest was amazing! There was a little bit of a delay as we had to wait on a a guide from the actual park service. Our guide, Maria, had actually done the tour herself before but they assigned us a Spanish speaking guide (Adonis) and Maria interpreted. We were amazed at the howler and spider monkeys! We would give this part of the tour 5 stars. We went to see a lighthouse and many people climbed up the hill to it. We only went part way. We would have been happy just to view it. After the lighthouse, we had lunch at the beach. Lunch took way too long so the rest of the tour got shortchanged! We would have been happy with a sandwich instead of an hour and a half lunch. When you are only in the location for one day from a cruise ship, you want to see the sites! We didn’t get much time at all in Montechristi but were thrilled to get to see the Panama hat factory and bought a hat for our grandson. We would have gladly skipped the lighthouse and the long lunch to see more of this interesting town.
