Highlights

Cusco - Cloud Forest - Bamboo Lodge

Paucartambo - We set off from Cusco in our cozy bus, ascending towards the charming town of Paucartambo. On the route, we explore the ancient Ninamarca funeral towers, relics of the Pre-Inca civilization.

Las Cruces - Our journey continues through a stunning cloud forest, a haven for diverse flora including exotic orchids. This is where our first hike takes place, offering opportunities to spot Peru’s national bird, the Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola Peruviana), various monkeys, and numerous bird species. If fortune favors us, we might even glimpse the rare Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos Ornatus), unique to South America.

Bamboo Lodge - Our day concludes as we reach BAMBU LODGE in the evening, where we’ll stay in a traditional lodge equipped with showers, toilets, and private rooms.

Manu National Park - n the early morning, we embark on a brief 20-minute downstream to the parrots’ clay lick. This is a prime opportunity to observe a variety of parrots, including the vibrant green parrots, blue-headed parrot (Pionus Menstrus), mealy parrot (Amazona farinosa), and the chestnut-fronted macaw (Ara severa), among others.

Manu National Park in Peru, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spans 1.7 million hectares from the Amazon rainforest to the Andes mountains. It’s divided into three zones: Special Use for research and education, Reserved for authorized scientists, and Cultural for indigenous communities like the Matsiguenga and Amahuaca. Boasting over 800 bird species, 200 mammals, and numerous reptiles, amphibians, plants, and trees, including jaguars and blue-headed macaws, the park is a biodiversity hotspot.
