Highlights
  • Motoscafisti Capri - Arrive at dock number 0 in the port of Capri. You will board the next available departure.
  • Gennarino Scugnizzo Di Capri - Perched on a large boulder overlooking the sea, the bronze statue of “Gennarino, O ‘Scugnizzo di Capri” is visible. This statue, also known as the statue of welcome, traditionally greets women arriving in Capri by sea.
  • White Grotta - Named for the white calcareous incrustations on its sides and clusters of white stalactites hanging from the roof and entrance. The cave faces east near Punta della Chiavioa. The entry, about 70–80 feet (21–24 m) high, leads to upper and lower caves, with the former being less accessible. The lower cave can be entered by boat for a short distance. Unlike most water-level caves, it is broader at about 6 feet (1.8 m) above the water than at the surface, with a total height of no more than 24 feet (7.3 m). The upper erosion line is clearly marked near and within the cave, indicating the upper cave belongs to an earlier period.

According to Mario Puzo’s book The Sicilian, the Grotta Bianca is where the famous Sicilian bandit Salvatore Giuliano stayed during his first nights as an outlaw after killing an armed national policeman. Although dramatized, many believe some information in the book is true regarding Giuliano.

  • Villa Malaparte - A house on Punta Massullo, on the eastern side of Capri, Italy, and one of the finest examples of Italian modern and contemporary architecture.

The house was conceived around 1937 by renowned Italian architect Adalberto Libera for Curzio Malaparte. However, Malaparte rejected Libera’s design and built the home himself with the help of local stonemason Adolfo Amitrano.

  • Natural Arch - Suspended above the turquoise sea, this massive rock has naturally formed into a gigantic arch resembling an elephant.
  • I Faraglioni - The most iconic sight of Capri.
  • Marina Piccola - The sunny bay on the south side of the island.
  • Green Grotta - The green light on the rocks is a composite effect of blue light reflected and transmitted from the water, playing on the yellowish-hued sides and roof of the cave.
  • Punta Carena Lighthouse - Built in 1866, this lighthouse, or ‘faro’ in Italian, is the second tallest in Italy (after Genoa) and one of the most important guarding the Tyrrhenian Sea. At Punta Carena, the seabed descends rapidly, reaching 600 meters deep just 500 meters from the coast.
  • Blue Grotto - Entrance by rowing boat is not included or guaranteed. The sea must be very calm and the tide low. If the waiting time exceeds 45 minutes, the crew reserves the right to return to the port. A free ride to use later in the day is then granted.

Good tour - It was a good ride around but FYI the yellow line is the BIG boat, not the smaller boats. It was good if you’re prone to being sea sick since the larger boat cuts through the waves more. But, if you’re expecting a small crowd, that’s not this boat.

Great Value Tour of the entire Island of Capri - The yellow line is a fun inexpensive way to view the entire island of Capri. The boat is small enough to enter one of the larger grottos and the driver explains all the landmarks on the Island. It does not stop at the Blue Grotto, but the queues to get into the Grotto were very long. It also does not offer the “extras” food and drinks of other tours but this is reflected in the price. I’d highly recommend this tour.

WARNING: Not a wheelchair accessible tour! - This is advertised as a wheelchair accessible experience. In fact in the notes / description it is mentioned 3 times along with stroller accessible. We were first offered a giant dinghy as pictured above which is not suitable at all so then we were told (and given different tickets) and went from wharf 0 to wharf 23 to catch an accessible boat. The boat arrived with a long gangway not wheelchair accessible to walk down to get onto/off the bow of the boat which had stairs. The name of the boat was Grotta Azzurra of the Yellow Line. I managed to get onto the boat however it was far from safe due to the way the narrow gang plank I had to walk moved up and down pivoting with the boat due to waves. Reaching between the gangplank and stairs on the boat I almost fell off the side. My wheeled mobility device had to be collapsed and carried onto the boat. The gangplank plus stairs cannot carry a wheelchair. The experience was neither accessible nor fun due to mis stated expectations set on the tour information. Nor is in stroller accessible!

They wanted to finish soon - They stayed less than halfway through the trip and quickly returned to where we had gone. We did not see the blue grotto, not even half of the points indicated

Confusing - tour did not allow you to go into blue grotto - This tour does not stop at the blue grotto. Or rather it stops but does not allow you to get off onto the row boats or ticket office steps. While the tour of the island was good we were not the only passengers left disappointed and confused.

Tour cancelled, no support for alternative or refund. - The tour was cancelled due to bad weather. Which is ok. However, the tour operator was not helpful to support the refund process. The issue is still open at viator side.

Dishonest vendor - They are not honest. Blue grotto was closed for 4 days and yet when we boarded, they say nothing abt grotto being closed. They shld have mentioned to us and for is to decide to proceed or refund. Only infront of grotto the they said it is closed. Dishonest service provider.

Fraudulent and Deceitful - Our goal was to see the Blue Grotto, but thought for an extra $1 USD why not take the full tour. The boat stopped at the Grotto and announced it was too busy and we couldn't stay. I wish we had read all the similar experiences - lesson learned to check Trip Advisor reviews first. Our cruise line told us to use Laser, but we had already purchased on-line tickets. Motoscafisti ruined our Capri visit.

Rotten tour company - Horrible. It was canceled due to weather. But the waters did not look too choppy to me. Terrible tour company. Do NOT use them

Complete Waste of time and money - Please avoid this tour as they do not get you to Blue Grotto. They will show you a few rocks and move around the island and never stop in Blue Grotto. They will always say that the waiting time is over 2 hours. One should blue line instead which goes directly to Blue Grotto. No one will buy this tour if they do not sham people with false promises.
