Highlights
  • Sedir Island - Start your trip with a pickup from your centrally located Marmaris hotel. Settle into your air-conditioned vehicle and travel to a nearby bay where your cruise boat is waiting.

Step aboard your comfortable boat and admire the views as you leave land behind and cut over the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Gökova to Cleopatra Island.

One of a trio, this famous islet (also known as Sedir Island) is home to a beach where, according to legend, Egypt’s pharaoh queen, Cleopatra, bathed with her lover Mark Anthony, sometime in the 2nd century BC. The story goes that Anthony ordered the sands from Egypt as a gift to his mistress — a tale perhaps borne out by the present-day sand. Made up of tiny, smooth seashells, it’s of a type that typically only hails from the Red Sea.

Before arriving, enjoy two stops to swim or snorkel in the turquoise Aegean, and savor a delicious lunch on deck, with drinks available to purchase on board. Please see the Itinerary for a sample menu.

Soon afterward, moor at the island and walk through olive groves to the fabled beach. Soak up the beauty before you and spend the next 3.5 hours or so doing exactly as you wish. Swim and snorkel in the crystalline waters, polish your tan, or stroll to the Roman ruins that lie nearby. If you wish, refuel with refreshments (own expense) at the beach cafe and hire a sunbed (own expense).

Later, cruise back to Marmaris with a further swim stop on route. Your trip ends with a hotel drop-off in the early evening.

Great day out - I would highly recommend this trip. Super value for money, great hosts, ship was lovely, great features on board changing rooms, fresh waterctobwash off the salt water, the staff are so friendly. The island itself is a MUST DO trip, from both an historical view and the sheer beauty of the island. The swims in the bays on the way back were fantastic. Crystal clear, warm waters. We wi be back next year and wi donthisctrip again. I would highly recommend and is also great for families too

Beautiful beaches - Overall it's a brilliant trip with plenty of stops at stunning beaches & swimming/jumping into the sea. We loved it, well worth the time and money. Only one minor point is that the instructions on board should be shorter. They were in 03 languages (English, Turkish, Russian). I found the English not perfect, which is ok, but would be easier to follow if shorter.

Cleopatra Castaway with Diana Travel - A great day out hosted by Diana Travel Marmaris. Started with a surprise and exciting off-road 4x4 open-top Jeep experience through the hills at the back of Marmaris. Two fantastic picture stops - truly breathtaking - and driving along roads and through villages you would never see as a tourist on your own. Tip-top driver who was really enjoying himself and having a great laugh with us. Then on to the boat the for a leisurely cruise. Swim stop to wash off the road - hugely refreshing and beautiful cove to swim in - turquoise waters and white beach. After this a fresh and tasty lunch, included in the price, of fresh chicken, salad and pasta. On to Cleopatra’s Island - what a dream! Low lying rocks and white, white sand with secluded coves. The Hellenistic remains are hugely interesting and show how life would have been - completely surrounded by blue and turquoise water and shady trees. Back to the boat and a further two swim stops - one turquoise water and beach and the last a deep dark blue cool cove. Then god bless our driver he’d waited on to make sure we got home in one piece. Thank you Diana Travel Marmaris.

Romantic day out - First day of our couple holiday and what a treat! Excellent value for money. Due to staying at the Marmaris Bay Resort (about a 15 min drive from the town), we selected a central hotel for pick up and caught the bus to our point for just under £1. Our guide and minibus were right on time. We were confident of this due to confirmation via WhatsApp the day prior. The boat was stunning with three tiers - the first for shade and the bar (soft drinks free), toilets below deck, and two tiers above with mats laid out for sun bathing. I recommend bringing your own towel as we did, as the plastic gets warm. After a short boat trip to Cleopatra Island, we had two hours to explore. €13 for entry and it was beyond worth it. We loved seeing the chickens and geese, the Roman ruins (especially the theatre), and we saw fish when snorkelling at the beach. It was a nice touch that the sun beds were free. A lunch was provided on return to the boat including tomato spaghetti, breaded chicken, a green salad and a basket of bread. Although simple, it was delicious and delivered in a timely fashion. We had three stops on the way back which provided opportunities to jump from the first tier and swim in the sea. Unfortunately, people ignored this and jumped from the second tier where we had set up camp which was a little off-putting, but no fault of the company. The music at times was often a little too loud, but varied. There were no delays on return to our stop and we were back on the bus to our hotel by 17:00. Highly recommend for a romantic adventure on your holiday. Thank you! We loved it!

Lovely relaxing boat ride and beautiful sea to swim in. - Horrible hilly 30 min bus ride to boat, do not take children if they get travel sick. Big pirate ship lovely and relaxing ride with stops to swim (take snorkeling gear). Beach small but sea lovely to swim in with sand under your feet. Standard lunch chicken, pasts, salad.

Never again!! - You can't walk on the sand, The food that was included was horrible, waste of money, not suitable for kids with SEN needs, how many time do you really have to swim in the sea!!
