Highlights
  • Jardin Majorelle - We start our journey with an important visit to the Botanical Garden and artist’s landscape garden in Marrakech. Created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle in 1923, it was opened to the public in 1947. The garden features a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. Nearby, the new Yves Saint Laurent Museum offers a well-curated collection showcasing YSL’s brilliance and attention to detail. The gift shop has a great selection of items at various price points. Together with Jardin Majorelle, it is a perfect highlight of Marrakech.

  • Koutoubia Mosque - Next, we drive through the walls of the old town, known as the Medina, to the Koutoubia Mosque. Founded in 1147, it is Marrakech’s largest mosque and a city landmark that has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Your guide will provide a tour and share extensive information about it.

  • Bab Agnaou - We continue driving by the imperial Kasbah with a stop at the famous gate, Bab Agnaou. One of the 19 gates that allow entry into the ramparts of Marrakech, this gate dates back to the Almohad Berber period in the 12th century. It served as an entrance to the administrative and military complex of the Caliphal Kasbah from the south of the city. Flanked by two cannons, it is one of the most impressive gates of Marrakech.

  • Bahia Palace - We arrive at an important monument: Bahia Palace. Driving through the Jewish quarter, we reach the Bahia, an 8000-square-meter extravagance of intricate marquetry, plasterwork, and zouak (painted wood). Built by Grand Vizier Si Moussa in the 1860s, the palace features salons with intricate marquetry and zouak ceilings, and the Cour d’Honneur, a grand courtyard with a 1500-square-meter floor of Italian Carrara marble, is the highlight. Despite its vast area, only a portion of the palace’s eight hectares and 150 rooms is open to the public. Its grand spaces sometimes host important cultural events.

  • Souk Semmarine - After visiting Bahia Palace, we walk through the Semmarine Souks to explore the colorful markets or ‘Souks.’ Follow your guide to discover the markets in Marrakech’s Medina, where Arab and Berber cultures burst with color, noise, and originality. Smell spices, taste olives, touch leather goods, and buy local handicrafts.

  • Jemaa el-Fnaa - After navigating the labyrinth of the Souks, we arrive at the famous square, Jemaa el-Fnaa. Here, snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats, and street vendors animate the old walled city. In the evening, the square transforms into a food haven with small open-air restaurants. This is the main attraction for tourists in Marrakech.

  • Ben Youssef Madrasa - Lastly, we visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the largest Koranic school in the Medina, now a historical site. At its peak, it was the largest Islamic college in Morocco. Named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque, founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142), it is considered one of the best spots in the red city. Your guide will provide extensive information about it. Then, return to your accommodation or meeting point.

Magnificent Experience through the Marrakesh City - Very nice experience with our knowledgeable guide Abdelfatah Naanaa always showing hiding "corners" with a bite of well know history of this magnificent city hiding so many secrets. I suggest to acquire the tickets for the Majorelle garden. Not forgetting our great driver always on time to pick us up after our visits. For sure an experience that I recommend for someone that wants a small taste of the city.

Great guide and excellent tour - Abdelfatah Nanna was a top guide. He was very punctual and picked us on the riad as arranged. Great communicator and always took care of our family specially in the busy streets inside the Medina. He communicated very well and was very friendly. He took us to some shops (first asked if we were interested) in which vendors explain how things are done and don’t push for a sale. He is a kind man and deserves all the praise. The tour was like advertised and well organized. Marrakesh is truly a gem. Driver was also professional with air cond van with fresh waters

Topissimo - For our first time at MRK we did not regret choosing a private and guided tour and not just a “driver”. Our Guide Abdelfatah Naanaa was very available, accommodating (chgt tours following online Reservation of Majorelle Garden). Many clear and rich explanations. Great morning and yet it was 47°! To do without hesitation.

Great way to understand the city! - My driver was so friendly and kind and although I didn't pay for a tour guide, he was kind enough to answer historic or local questions I had! He was very prompt for all pick ups and drop offs. I think this excursion is definitely worth it as a first timer in a city if you'd like to get the lay of the land :)

Enjoyable and informative - The key points of the tour were great. Our driver Mohammed shared some really interesting facts. He did offer for us to visit a local pharmacy which make aragan oil, this wasn't outlined in the initial description of the tour. We accepted the offer, however, there was such a strong expectation for you to buy products and the owner wasn't happy when we only bought 1 product. Other than this the tour was good, and the van had air conditioning.
