Additional Information

Your half-day exploration on foot around the lively city of Marrakech commences once you meet your guide at the Café de France, a famed reference point in Marrakech’s central plaza. Over this duration, you’ll experience the grandeur and buzz of Marrakech’s medina, starting with a stroll over the Jemaa el-Fnaa square towards the Koutobia Mosque. Absorb the sight of the mosque’s towering minaret, Marrakech’s highest, while your seasoned guide educates you about the awe-inspiring edifice’s past.

Continuing, you will venture towards the Saadian Tombs, closed off for ages until they came to light again in 1917. Wonder at the intricate carvings done in a Hispano-Moorish design that border the burial sites of the royal family from the 16th century. After this, you’ll visit the equally intricate Bahia Palace, a royal residence from the 19th century developed to outshine all palaces of its era. Be awestruck by the intricately-painted roofs, well-tended gardens filled with fruit-bearing trees, and elaborate stucco designs garnishing nearly every facet of the edifice.

Brilliant tour, well worth doing! - Our guide Rachid was such a lovely man and so knowledgable about the history of Marrakech. I cannot praise him enough. We really enjoyed going to the Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs and with his guidance we learnt so much about them, alone we wouldn’t have appreciated all the history!

Highly recommended great experience - Our tour guide Ali was so friendly and taught us so much about the history and culture of Marrakech. We met him at a convenient location in the city and he came right on time. We were given different options for what to see and the tour was tailored to our interest. Overall great value for money and would highly recommend booking this if in Marrakech.

Transference of enthusiasm - Abdul our guide was excellent. So much so, we are going to really go out of our way to book guides going forward. His English was very good and his passion for his country & its history was infectious. He really brought everything alive for us both. What it also did was help us acclimatise to the madness that is Marrakesh. Where we were squeezing to the sides as bikes went to and throw down these tiny streets. We saw Abdul walking without concern as bikes moved around and past him. This gave us more confidence for the whole holiday on how to conduct ourselves. A real must, and I would recommend this to be your first excursion. A real credit whatever the background company is.

Great guide. Expensive tour - The guide was very good. But the tour is expensive. Also, it's not really a walking tour, it's a tour to two monuments that starts in a different part of yhe city, where the guide picks you up.

Nice guide but a bit slow paced - Was meet by our Guide as confirmed he was really knowledgeable about Marrakesh and the wider Morocco, we shared the tour with one other couple, groups where arranged based on the language spoke. The tour took us through the souks to the Bharia Palace, then on to the The Saadian Tombs via the Jewish quarter stopping of for a snack provided by our tour, which was nice. The guide was lovely but it was very slow paced with the heat wasn't ideal although the afternoon option (14:00pm) maybe the best one as some venues can be busier in the morning. If I'm honest the only real highlight was the Bharia Palace which was $7 dirhams per person, the same price as the Saadian tombs although the guide did give us plenty of information about the culture of Morocco as a whole, that otherwise we'd have never known.
