Highlights
  • Medina of Marrakesh - Marrakech’s medina is about as close to an Indiana Jones movie as you can get. It’s a maze of smoky street side grills and snake charmers, Berber carpets and calls to prayer, swaying palms and Arabic coffee houses.

But it’s the food that makes this city so special. Forget soggy sfenj and mediocre tagines. Over four hours you’ll dig deep into this culinary powerhouse. Expect trays of sardines crackling with cumin in a wood-fired bakehouse, smoky chicken skewers sizzling over charcoal, simmered escargot in ras el hanout, soothing bowls of harira with sweet-caramel dates, slow-cooked rabbit tagine and many more surprises.

It’s more than that though. It’s a crash course in the culture behind the food, the answer to all those culinary questions: Why is bread so sacred? What is argan oil? Why do dates get served in odd numbers? And is the Djemaa el-Fnaa really worth eating in?

This is four hours of eating you don’t want to miss out on.

Marrakech bucket list must do tour! - We made this tour one of our must do’s before flying out after seeing a YouTube video online. Rachid was a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide and took us around the medina to places we would never of seen if we went on our own. The food was great and there was plenty of variety for us to try a lot of different plates. It was a 10/10 experience and we would highly recommend booking on this tour to get a real authentic feel of Marrakech.

10/10 guide! - This tour was exceptionally amazing! It was a lot more than we expected. Our tour guide Rashid was the main part of this tour; he explained everything to perfection, helped taking amazing pictures, and was very polite. All of the locals we visited seemed to love him and they were all very nice as well. I would recommend this tour to anyone as it has made our trip 100% more enjoyable. Oh, and everything we tried was delicious.

10/10 Recommend! - This tour was one of our favorite things we did in Marrakech. We were able to learn about the city while enjoying a variety of dishes. There are so many options to eat at the Medina so it was great to have a guide to take us to the best spots and navigate through the streets. We had so much food during the tour that we didn't need dinner afterwards. We were able to enjoy bread, meats, amazing orange juice, coffee, soups and pastries. Rachid was a great guide who gave us information about the food, history of the city, took some great photos and answered all of our questions. It was a warm day and he also provided water bottles throughout the tour. The communication ahead of time was fantastic. My partner has a couple of food allergies and after signing up for the tour Lucian immediately messaged me let me know about the restrictions. The email ahead of time with the clear instructions on where to meet was very helpful as well.

Awesome foodie experience 😋 - 2 things that need to be said upfront. I was a little unsure about taking a food tour and I don't usually give reviews. We met Rachid at the appointed starting point which was communicated very well with 2 or 3 emails. We were with 2 other couples. They make a point of saying, turn up hungry and this is the best advice. It was like a 15 course street food degestation walking tour. Did about 8000 steps and ate amazing and different street food. Some put you a little out of your comfort zone. Rachid was knowledgeable and cruised out our speed. You wound your way all over the medina through places you would never find. My personal high points were the beef and lamb cooked in a oven in the ground for 12 hours and the coffee made using very hot sand. We also visited local community bread bakeries and cooking areas which was very eye opening. To sum it up it was amazing food and Rachid did a great job and none of us could eat anything else at the end. I would recommend doing this trip at the start of your visit as you then feel comfortable eating steet food you may not have tried.

10/10 food tour of the Medina - This food tour was the highlight of our trip! We booked on as a couple and were joined by another couple and another guy. Our tour guide, Abdul, was so knowledgable, accommodating and kind. I would 100% recommend the tour! We tried so many local dishes we wouldn’t have know about otherwise and saw so many parts of the Medina that we hadn’t before. Can’t recommend enough!

Eat yourself silly across the Medina - Totally worth every penny, from the 15 or so types of food you'll eat over the course of 4 hours, to the expert knowledge and care of tour guide Rachid, taking you to places you wouldn't find yourself, and aren't available to regular tourists. Come hungry!
