Highlights
- Lanai - Divers meet at our dive shop at 6:30 AM to check in and get fitted with rental gear. We often see dolphins and whales during the crossing and always stop the boat. The captain decides where we dive based on conditions, but you will almost always dive one of the Cathedrals and another spectacular location. When we arrive at our first site we do a short briefing and then suit up and dive into the crystal clear waters of Lanai.
As there are very few dive boats diving on Lanai we try to pick a site where we are the only people in the water. We do 60 minute dive, air permitting, to depths around 50 - 75 feet. After the first dive we do a short surface interval where we have a snacks or optional lunch. Then we dive again to a depth of 50 - 70 feet for up to an hour.
After the dives we break down the gear, take in the stunning topside scenery, and talk about what we found on our dives as we make our way back to Mala Wharf.

Dive Lanai’s renowned caverns, lava tubes, swim-throughs, and arches on Maui’s top-rated 2 Tank boat dive.
Ancient lava flows have sculpted a breathtaking underwater terrain on the nearby island of Lanai. We adore the underwater features of caverns, lava tubes, swim-throughs, and arches, and you will too. Your seasoned captain will select the dive sites for the day based on the conditions, but you can anticipate exploring Lanai’s famous Cathedrals along with other spots.
Our groups are small, with 14 or fewer divers, ensuring you receive personalized attention from your instructors who will guide you through 2 outstanding dives and answer all your questions about the marine life.
Our custom-built boat, Hoku, is the fastest and most comfortable vessel crossing the channel. Dolphins and whales often make appearances, and we always pause to greet them.

Great scuba experience!! - Scott, Jack, and Joe guided our tour. They were amazing!!! We've been on many dives, and these guys outdid themselves, keeping us informed and entertained the entire trip. Scott was our dive master and was terrific. He did a great job leading the dive and pointing out rare sea life and features. If you are in Maui and thinking about which dives to go on, add the Cathedrals to your list.

Great dive experience! - My daughter and I did the Lanai Cathedrals dive with Dive Maui. It was a fantastic experience. The staff, Captain Jack, Scott and Abbey, were super knowledgeable and their briefings were very thorough. We felt very safe and well taken care of. The cathedral dive was like nothing I have ever experienced before! On the way back we saw a pod of spinner dolphins which made our day even more special. If we are ever in Maui again, we will definitely use these guys!!

great experience and well organized - great crew and all activities well planned. i hadn't scuba dived for over a decade although i did a refresher before the dive. our team dive leader brian was a perfect balance of attentive and safety conscious while giving plenty of freedom to explore in my own way. saw and experienced many great things while enjoying the dive after so many years. the ginger candies and unlimited snacks were helpful to beat mild sea sickness.

Lanai Cathedralss - The captain and dive instructors were fantastic. Their access to Lanai is unique in the fact it's the closest dive shop (with their own boat) to the island so they are able to frequent the dive sites which is an advantage in terms of their deep knowledge for the island and each site.
The Lanai Cathedrals were fantastic, we saw an array of sea life including massive schools of fish, eels, a Galapagos shark and black corral. Personally the black corral was extremely special because it requires minimal sunlight which is normally at very extreme depths but was within the rock cathedrals at depth of about 50-60 ft.
Would absolutely recommend this dive shop if you are trying to make the trip out to Lanai or dive the fantastic Mala Pier right in Lahaina town.
Grateful this business is making recovering from the devastating fires in 2023.

Amazing diving experience - My boyfriend and I had an amazing time diving with Dive Maui. Everyone was incredibly nice and made sure all divers were comfortable and safe. The dive locations were of course stunning. This experience was one of our favorite during our vacation to Maui! If you are considering diving with this company absolutely go for it! You won't be disappointed.

Lanai Cathedrals 2 Tank Dive - Incredible! - One of the best dive experiences we have had! Scott is phenomenal. Made folks of all dive levels feel completely comfortable and appreciated. Beautiful and fun dive sites. 100% would do again.

Wonderful diving locations - We had a great experience with Dave Maui and particularly the boat crew. They took care of everything to ensure our diving was enjoyable as possible.
Jack was our captain of the boat and he knew the area very well. He aided everyone getting in and out of the water with their scuba gear on, making the transition very easy.
Abbi was our dive master and she was outstanding. Great briefing on what to expect. And then we dove the plan. Her speed was right where it needed to be so the group stayed together and we had a great dive.

Missed Dive - Unfortunately we did t get to do the dive due to Lahaina. Hindsight we should of kept our reservations and listened to the locals and came anyways. The government said dont come… now we hear the locals say come….
