Highlights
  • Kahului - We arrive in Kahului after picking you up. When Maui locals mention going to “town,” they mean Kahului. Nestled in the valley between the Kahalawai (West Maui mountains) and Haleakala, Kahului is Maui’s most populated city and serves as the commercial and financial center. It also marks the starting point of our tour. The drive to Hana, excluding stops, takes about 2 hours.

  • Ho’okipa Beach Park - Hoʻokipa offers great waves year-round and is a favorite spot for advanced surfers and windsurfers. In winter, waves can reach up to 30 feet, suitable only for the most experienced surfers. The beach also has a protected area for honu (sea turtles), where many come ashore to sleep at night. Ho’okipa Lookout provides a good view of northwest Maui and the Pacific Ocean, offering an excellent vantage point to watch surfers and windsurfers below.

  • Huelo - Huelo Lookout – A Perfect Spot to Refuel on Snacks While on the Road to Hana. When traveling the Road to Hana, it’s always a good idea to stop by Huelo Lookout. More than just a fruit stand, this charming snack shop offers a variety of tasty treats and drinks, along with views of lush vegetation. You can enjoy snacks on-site and take extras for your journey.

  • Pua’a Ka’a State Park - Pua’a Ka’a is a favorite among visitors. Located at Mile Marker 22.5, about 40 winding miles from Kahului, this verdant park features a pair of splendid waterfalls.

  • Wai’anapanapa State Park - This remote, wild, volcanic coastline offers solitude and a break from urban life. The park provides lodging, camping, picnicking, shore fishing, and family hiking along an ancient Hawaiian coastal trail leading to Hana. It’s an excellent spot to view a seabird colony and a natural stone arch. Other features include a native hala forest, heiau (religious temple), sea stacks, blowholes, and a small black sand beach.

  • Hana - After 52 miles of winding roads on the Hana Highway, also known as the ‘Road To Hana,’ you will arrive in Hana Town! Hana spans 4,500 acres and was once owned by the Unna Brothers, who raised sugar cane in the 1800s. In 1935, Paul Fagan purchased the area and began cattle farming. Today, Hana is owned by a group of local and mainland investors. This quaint town offers a peaceful retreat for Maui visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle. In Hana, you can dine at one of the three local restaurants, shop in small stores, and chat with the locals.

  • Kahului - We will drop you back at the pick-up location and stop for a drive-through lunch.
